How to Get There
I am a big fan of going to a nice spa when I travel for business. I like to unwind and get a massage and use the steam room and generally relax. I am accustomed to price points in resorts and expect the services and amenities to align with those.
I scheduled my massage the first day and noticed that there was no lounge area in the spa space which is odd for a property like this. My massage therapists as polite and timely and did a very nice job. When I went to retire to the men’s area of the spa, I wanted to visit the steam room, one of my favorite things to do. I sat in their for 20 minutes and it never produced steam. They did not have water in the back room and proper chairs.
This was a very disappointing experience for me. If all I wanted was a basic massage without the amenities, I could have gone elsewhere.
As a frequent traveler I expected a
Great deal more for my 265 dollars!!!
The hotel was under construction so other comments would be unfair, but the spa should have been on point and was lacking.
Starts with the front desk- Jessica and Tanya are clutch at taking care of the guests. I had a small issue checking in and the inconvenience was made up for along with a wonderful handwritten note.
The rooms are huge and the views are amazing. Make sure and ask for the city view. So gorgeous.
Breakfast buffet is nice, a little tough to differentiate what is "continental" and what is "extra". I was charged $7 because my 5 year old took a piece of bacon.. no signs..no explanation...this was the only mishap of our whole trip and honestly the food was so yummy I gave the guy a $20 and was happy with the value.
I didn't check out the fitness center but the pools are heated which is clutch with Cali col mornings and nights.
This property does a great job of recognizing and rewarding the loyalty programs.
If you have a suite upgrade I would use it here, very spacious and comfy!
overall I would stay here over the Del or air b n bs on the island any day of the week.
The resort is under construction and dust is everywhere. I ordered a salad with albacore tuna from room service. The tuna had a bad smell and I just couldn’t eat it. Sorely disappointed in this place.
We checked in on 31st of December and stayed until 3rd of January, the location was beautiful overlooking San Diego skyline over the sea, you can walk there, there is strip of eateries, cafes, some shops. The only downside was they had a renovation going on in the hotel. And there was very poor variety of food on breakfast buffet no fresh vegetable cuts as cucumbers, carrots or tomatoes. I had once a problem with one of the cleaning lady, my baby was feverish, so I took her to the balcony while the cleaner was in the room she havent changed the bed sheet as I adked her to do so particularly as my baby had spilled her food on it and it took her one hour to clean a small room!
The Coronado Island Marriott Resort is a great place to stay, even if you’re a local San Diegan. My partner and I first came to the hotel because they have 4 permanent pickleball courts. They are the best in San Diego County! The hotel has done a fantastic job of making their pickleball courts accessible to all. You don’t even have to be a hotel guest to play there, at least for now. You simply pay five dollars for the parking pass and get you access to the pickleball courts.
Once we were tuckered out from playing pickle ball, we relaxed in their pool & did a light workout in the gym.
Our room was fantastic with an awesome view of the Coronado Bay Bridge.
The hotel is a short hike to the Ferry Landing That has lots of great restaurants, shops and bike rental places.
The prices are very reasonable considering everything this resort has to offer.
It’s a “must do” place to stay!
