How to Get There
This is a special place. My husband and I were able to just relax and enjoy each other. The decor is beyond words. We walked around enjoying the sites. We never took our car out. We had everything we needed. The room was beautiful and our view was breath taking.
We stayed here overnight with family while visiting San Diego. We all had a great time. The staff, hotel grounds, room, pool and view were amazing. The kids loved the pool and it being heated kept them here well into the night! This resort has lots of great features to it and is only a short drive from the main island beach near hotel del Coronado! We even got a nice firework display in the harbor at night. I will be back on my next vacation!
Just stayed for 3 nights for a little getaway with my hubs. There are lots is amenities on this property, covered by a resort fee, which we didn’t partake in as it was too hot to play tennis and the “rental bikes” kind of look like a bit of a joke since we’re both cyclists. The lobby and rooms are updated, though they clearly cut some corners in our room (I.e. the trim around the doors, an original rusty tub surrounded by new tile). The pool area is nice, but be ready for lots of kiddos (and a rude parent or two) and a bar menu that has no non-alcoholic options on it. We hung out mostly at the small pool by our villa which was nice and quiet, but with no service. The location of this property is fantastic, going over the Coronado bridge we could get anywhere in 15 mins or less.
Also, don’t pay for parking. Park on the street. It’s free.
We finished off our 2 week trip to California here, to relax and enjoy the Big Bay Boom on 4th of July. Glad we did. The Hotel is very nice. Our suite had a living room completely separated from the bedroom and 2 balconies overlooking the Bay.
There is something for everybody at this hotel, from spa and steam room to bike and jet ski, kayak and SUP rentals, a lap pool and a fitness center along family pools. It is in walking distance to the ferry landing that offers transportation across the bay in a small village setting featuring shops and restaurants.
Spent about 10 days there on a split visit in June/early July. Great staff in all areas. You really feel welcome here from the moment you arrive, Special thanks to Patrick and Jen at the Concierge desk- Jen is the concierge but Patrick who is trying to move the Marriott Vacation club is also a big help on what to see etc. The restaurant staff are superb. And if you are a Marriott loyalty guest you get a 20% discount card for food. The resort fee of $30.00 is reasonable for the services it covers. Parking is either self or valet and for $10.00 more the valet is worth the difference. Right across the street is the local Coronado "free" bus for the summer traveler. From 9 to 9 it operates on the island and goes all the way to the ocean beach. Lot easier than driving and leaves every 15 minutes. Stops at the ferry, down town Coronado and the "Dell". The hotel is on the bay side of the island and within a short[ 7-9 minute] walk to the ferry to San Diego. Hotel has a nice pool area and is a great place to stay if you want to relax and enjoy the SD weather.
