How to Get There
Our room was comfortable with foam-type mattress. Wifi only worked in certain parts of the room and there weren't enough outlets. Layout of the room is odd - with bathtub making a sort of wall between the bed area and the sink area. I can't imagine relaxing to take a bath in the middle of the room unless I was there by myself.
Front desk staff was quite helpful and friendly as was the outside lounge staff.
Location is great - close to restaurants and Claremont Colleges. Price value seemed good. Street noise was a bit louder than expected but they nicely provide some earplugs.
I'd mark higher except that the wifi issue was quite problematic.
Located in the center of town, Hotel Casa 425 is a terrific option if you are visiting Claremont. You can walk to everything, including all the Claremont Colleges. The rooms are terrific and well-appointed with very comfortable beds. Highly recommend!
Our family of four stayed here while visiting the Claremont colleges. We thought it was a perfect base for our college tours. The room was extremely spacious and clean. The women who worked at the front desk were very friendly. The decor and colors of the hotel are funky and fun. We liked the nighttime outdoor firepits. It is walking distance to many good restaurants and shops. We will definitely return if we are ever in Claremont again.
We stayed at Casa 425 for four nights, Thursday through Sunday. We arrived late Thursday night so we had made late arrival arrangements, and the night auditor was waiting for us as scheduled. We had a third floor room. The room was large and clean. It seemed a little dated, but typical for a boutique hotel. The shower was large with a lot of hot water and strong pressure. The bed was really comfortable.
The bar is a popular night spot in Claremont. It opens at 4:00 and closed at 11:00 on Friday and Saturday and 10:00 on Sunday. There is outside seating in the hotel courtyard so it is pretty noisy. But around closing time everything became totally silent so it was not a problem for us. They also serve small plate foods at the bar which were quite tasty.
There is a complementary continental breakfast served in the bar. It was very good and there was plenty of food choices.
Everyone who works at the hotel was quite friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again.
This boutique hotel is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting any of the Claremont colleges or in town for any reason. The rooms are large and well appointed, the staff is friendly and helpful, the bar and restaurant are a great place to hang out and visit with friends and eat, and the breakfast buffet is simple but fresh and delicious. It's always my first pick when coming to town--but book ahead as there are not enough hotels in the area and it sells out often.
