How to Get There
It is a great location for wine tasting. It is a beautiful location. The physical hotel is beautiful but tired.
I was really surprised by the physical condition of the facility. The bed was really lumpy and the shower worked poorly. The restaurant wasn't operating and there was nothing close by. The outside area was literally in shambles. See pics. Fabric faded and ripped up. Wood distressed by weather, not design. Large American flag torn and tattered, flapping in the wind.
The price was right, but really a BIG disappointment. Not what you would expect from a Marriott.
Updated rooms, great bar and outside fire pits... nice amenities. Truly enjoyed the experience. The ONLY negative was that the floors are now plank vinyl and were not very clean. I was walking on them after a shower and felt like something was on the bottom of feet. When I looked, they were a bit black... :(
My boyfriend and I spent Thursday-Saturday at this hotel before Labor Day. While reviewing the reviews before I booked the room, people were annoyed with the buckled wood flooring and while the rooms were recently renovated, it wasn’t an issue. It’s not as bad as people make it seem as it’s an issue with the floor. The bed was slightly firm, the bathroom was nice with a granite countertop and a lovely shower. The products were nice. My favorite part of the room was the nook. It was an L shape with cushions and a little table. There was wood paneling with a horse head stained into the wall to give it a rustic feel. We brought wine and bought some cheese and crackers after a long day of wine tasting. We went to the “wine ghetto” in Lompoc, just outside of Santa Barbara. If you’re into supporting small businesses and interested in the “hipster vibe”. I highly suggest checking this industrial park filled of wineries! Sweetzer Vineyards was awesome and Lisa is so upbeat and excited about her wines. The wines are delicious. I bought the Sauvignon Blanc and my boyfriend
bought the Pinot Noir that can only be purchased during the wine tasting. She makes the whole experience! Then, we went to winery next door, recommended by Lisa. It was so much fun! I bought the rose and their wines were delicious! Nevertheless, I digress. This hotel is about 45 minutes outside of Santa Barbara and is right off the highway but you don’t hear anything, if you request accordingly. Another thing I wanted to add was my boyfriend and I had breakfast at the hotel. It was delicious and large quantity and about $16pp. My boyfriend ordered the French toast and it was stacked with bananas and strawberries. I ordered eggs, toast, sausage, hash browns, and it came with a juice of your choice and a soft drink (I ordered tomato juice and ice tea). I will definitely return back here in the future and I highly suggest you consider spending your vacation here!
