How to Get There
We stopped here after leaving San Luis Obispo to charge our car. We went inside hoping to catch breakfast being served at the coffee shop/cafe’ downstairs. Although it was very close to the cut-off time for serving breakfast, the employees were gracious and hospitable and served us up two breakfast items! Great service and the food was good, too. Martha was a our server and she was very attentive and friendly. Very nice hotel; it may be a future evening stopover for us next time while traveling!
Decided to travel with family to the Santa Ynez Valley. Found this nice hotel conveniently located off the FWY and just a short drive from Solvang and the Chumash Casino. The hotel is clean, newly decorated rooms, good facility and a great gym. Overall good quality for the money, there are much more expensive and dated options in the area, definitely worth staying. One thing, if you have back problems order firm mattress because my back went out as a result
My husband and I returned to this hotel post remodel for 2 nights. Overall, the hotel is much improved.
The exterior and lobby did not change much, but the layout of the bar area behind the lobby was more open and inviting to enjoy drinks with friends or just hang out and relax.
Our room was the biggest notable improvement, with the overall design finally up to date with the times, including little details such as sufficient outlets for your devices. They removed the strange 1970's looking "bar" area near the door and replaced it with a comfortable seating area, making the room feel more spacious and open. The closet area was considerably smaller and could only hang a few items. I could see this could be a problem if you plan to stay for a week or more, but was sufficient to hold your belongings for 2-3 nights. In the bathroom, the previous shower/tub combo is now just a shower only with a sliding glass door. I already noticed some of the wallpaper peeling from the bathroom, so I hope all of the updates hold up over the years. Overall, I was pleased with the room and thought pictures on their website felt accurate.
The hotel is in a very good location in being right off the freeway and short drive away to many wineries and restaurants in the area. If you want a lot of options within walking distance, I would recommend staying in the center of Solvang. Overall service and food (we just had coffee and breakfast items at the bar area) had not changed much since the remodel. I would continue to stay here again the next time I plan to visit the area.
Great pool to swim, and well located very close to Solvanng, Ca. Also there's a great 100 bicycle tour that normally happens the week prior to our fire prevention conference. Split Pea Soup Anderson just across the freeway for pea soup lovers like myself.
Great hotel. Front desk friendly and top notch. Easy check in/ check out. Room outstanding. Clean and bed very comfortable. Restaurant service excellent. Omelette egg chef superb. All staff very friendly. I will return. 5 Stars
