The Peninsula Sets the Standard
Reviewed 5 days ago

The Peninsula is the very best hotel I’ve found. With N.A. Locations in Beverly Hills, Chicago and New York, it offers travelers to these larger cities the opportunity to experience a hotel stay at the highest level.

The BH location is perfectly situated. The hotel was recently renovated. There is really no way to describe how well the staff treats guests.

Scott the manager has done an unbelievable job with his facility. Everyone at the front desk is welcoming. No request will not be entertained.

The NY and Chicago locations are no different. The spas are top notch, the food is fresh and locally sourced when possible, and the staff is also very friendly.

If you want to experience the gold standard this brand is for you.

Least favorite hotel in LA (so far)

So I need to precede this review with 95% of the time we are staying at the Hotel Bel Air when we come to LA, but when we have been in LA for just one night sometimes we stay in town either at the Four Seasons on Doheny, sometimes the Montage, and this is our second time at the Penninsula, and the main reason for this being our second visit to the Peninsula in LA was that the Peninsula in Chicago is such great experience, we thought it would be the same experience here but that is not true. There has not yet been anyone here to acknowledge her presence, Secondly when we called them to tell them we were 30 minutes out from arriving (3:30pm was the time of the call) the lady on the phone did well let me rush them to get your room ready. Like 4 pm was an early arrival??? When we checked in the gentleman asked us a few times what our name was, I mean how many people do you have checking in on a Sunday night??? And we had just called 30 minutes prior!! Most places we stay say Mr & Mrs Blank we have been expecting you let me tell you about your room and the amenities we have for you.

After we were escorted to our dated room, I called about an hour later because my 18 month old daughter dropped her shoe off the balcony of our room into an interior closed patio. I called down to the reception to explain to them what happened and they said they had to send someone up to our room to find out the exact location of our room. I mean if this is your hotel how do you not know where each room is. (It was like literally everyone we came in contact with here this was thier first night on the job) Then, they called back and said they could not find it. So I Told them I was coming down. I went out that same enclosed patio that they had looked for the shoe and the person they sent searching was looking 20-40 yards way from our room.( I thought to myself how far do you really think an 18 month old can throw??) I told her I saw waitstaff walking in and out of the patio maybe someone picked it up and she said no she asked. I asked he to ask again. She asked one waiter and he said that he didn’t find it so she told me it wasn’t there. And I asked her did you ask the manager of the restaurant? She said no she hadn’t. (Mind you I am not being paid by the peninsula to wear one of those white caps to help solve the problems of thier customers) So she asked the manager and sure enough she had heard about my daughters missing shoe and the check in desk for the restaurant had it. Again, why did I go
though this hassle of the hotel trying to help me.

They clearly don’t want children in fact they have made it clear on every occasion they don’t know what do do with an 18 month old staying in thier hotel. Basically it was a shame on my part to ever give them a second chance and think they were like the Peninsula in Chicago. They are not. Therefore, we will NEVER be staying here again. They could care less about their clients or thier children.

This hotel is truly one of the great institutions of Beverly Hills. Had a recent multi-day stay here. Service is impeccable. Food from room service is top notch. The hotel is in a great location walking distance to the BH triangle. Been here many times and it always delivers!!!

We visited this hotel as it was my husbands 60th birthday and I had advised the hotel in advance and they made our visit amazing from the moment we arrived!!!
Our rooms were amazing and my sons room also had a gift on arrival - our room had embroidered initials on the pillows - we could not believe it!! Fabulous!
The courtyard terrace was fabulous and the rooftop terrace where the pool was based was fantastic!!
I tried the spa and again the Penninsula never disappoints!!!
I would recommend this hotel in Beverly Hills as a fantastic location and exceptional service. We would go back in a heartbeat!!

Exceptional Service!

It's a five start hotel, so all the amenities expected were there. What sets this property apart from other 5 star hotels we've stayed at is the service; from the valet to the maids to the dining - just outstanding. The effort the staff went too, to satisfy the clients (us) we have not ever experienced. And we collect experiences - from Rome to London to NY to Seattle... Never have we had the equal of The Peninsula. Well done. Thank you to the staff, everyone at The Peninsula!

p.s. We had breakfast with Andrew Lloyd Weber; well, we were in the room at the same time.

p.p.s. The Good Humor Man outfits might need to be revisited. Just my opinion.
