What We Love

  • Outdoor heated pools—one with a water slide
  • Native American story telling in the lobby each evening
  • Two 18-hole golf courses, one designed by Pete Dye Sr., the other by Gary Player

What To Know

  • Some two-story buildings don’t have an elevator; ask if mobility is a problem
  • This is a large property—you will need a car to get around, and parking is $15 a day
  • The resort is extremely child friendly; if you want a quieter experience ask for a room far from the pools

Overview

A 360 acre oasis in the Palm Springs desert that’s ideal for families

The Lowdown

This sprawling property is designed so you never have to leave. Kids can feed ducks near the lagoon, have noodle races, splash contests, and water volleyball games in the pool, or play croquet, basketball, badminton or golf. Adults have two golf courses to choose from; pools, whirlpools, lighted tennis courts and a Westin Workout gym with massages in the spa to unwind after; plus there are guided horseback tours into the desert. In between, guests refuel at one of the restaurants, from Italian Pinzimini to the poolside Las Brisas Café.

In the Area

Technically, Palm Springs is a desert. But it’s lush with activities. There’s bike riding, horseback riding, and desert treks. Within ten miles of the resort, guests will find four museums (including the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert and the Palm Springs Air Museum), along with Knotts Berry Farm, and the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. Adult travellers might prefer to check out the Moorten Botanical Gardens, or Agua Caliente Casino. And then there’s the El Paseo Shopping District, because everyone prefers a shopping mecca to a shopping desert.

Amazing resort

We loved this resort. We were there at the end of October, which is considered the low season, and the resort was not at all crowded. We loved our accommodation, the food and most notably the staff. We only stayed a week, but we will definitely return.

Beautiful Resort

Stayed one week on a timeshare trade. Stayed in one of the center row of buildings where our 2nd floor unit's balcony looked north. Very pleasant looking at their laggoon/stream landscaped central area and the balcony was in the shade all day which made it very pleasant. Each balcony has their own gas grill (immaculately clean). The unit itself was very well set up and furnished. The resort grounds were beautiful and their main pool very nice.

My husband and I stay at the Villas annually and enjoy the amenities VERY much-from Check-in to Check-out. Golf is fantastic! Pools are great! Fitness Center at adjoining hotel is very nice! Rancho Mirage is a great place for a getaway!
