How to Get There
We came here for my son 18 birthday, the experience was really good. We spent a magnificent time. Our room was in front of the Hadas pool. The view was very nice. The room was very clean, and it had a small refrigerator. The bar in the Hadas pool was very good and Daniel (I don't remember very well his name ) prepared a delicious drink for me. He put mint, run, and cucumbers. It was delicious. We enjoyed it and we will definitely come back. I fully recommend this resort.
We came with 12 and 13 year old grandsons. They had a great time in the family pool with the water slide. Since it was June we knew there would be a lot of families with kids at the resort and there were! Consequently, it wouldn't be my first choice for a quiet get-away. We snuck off to the adults only pool a time or two, it was usually empty, which was nice. Our room was very nice, the kitchen was adequate although there isn't an oven in the smaller rooms. The restaurant food at the resort was good, not great, but pricey, The Italian restaurant at the adjoining Westin Hotel was better. The staff were friendly and helpful, although we had some problems with housekeeping. They were minor and were dealt with quickly and cheerfully. We've been to the Westin Desert Willow in the past and prefer it for a quiet trip.
Ok, let’s get the mediocre out of the way. Yes, the rooms are maybe a little tired/dates and the bed is in need of replacing (saggy mattress). But otherwise, the resort is beautiful. The pools are gorgeous. I don’t golf, but I almost want to, staying here. Grounds are lovely. The food at the restaurant is actually kind of a let down
(except for the pizza-a surprise gem) but it’s easy to get out to other restaurants so no biggie. They have golf carts to take you everywhere, but I enjoyed walking around the little streams and waterfalls/pools. Very relaxing. Staff was lovely throughout.
First time at this hotel and it was great. Staff are attentive and excellent. Hotel and the surrounding grounds are immaculately kept.
Rooms are a little dated but adequate.
Plenty of restaurant and bar choices.
Excellent value if you are booking on SPG cash and point or just straight points.
This beautiful resort is closer to the 10 than many of the nice properties that take an additional 15 minutes to drive to from the highway. The property is huge and has everything for a romantic get-away and for families.
The main pool area has a water slide and cabanas to enjoy. We rented a cabana for the day. A small fridge was included with the cabana. The service was very good. We called to book to book the cabana days before our arrival. Since we have never been to this resort, we were not familiar with the pool area and where the cabanas were located, the resort employee responsible for the booking was very accommodating and patient in describing to us the locations in reference to the pool. I then took her descriptions and reviewed the locations on the map. We were able to choose one to our liking! **I uploaded the map to TripAdvisor for viewers convenience***. However, I would suggest everyone call ahead in case they re-positioned the cabanas. It was the perfect set up! The restrooms were also close to the pool and located inside the golf gift shop.
She even sent over a map of the cabana. The casitas are numbered and would be very confusing if you've never been to the property.*** Therefore, I uploaded a picture of the map and labeled the cabana****. **Sometimes the cabana are re-positioned so be sure to check with reservations ahead of time.
The property had walking paths, gardens and animals (turtles) for show. There was a little shelter dog that was being showcased in the front office when we visited. It was a really nice gesture for the hotel to do this in an effort to find the dog a forever home.
We were there during father's day weekend and had a great father's day brunch at the hotel's restaurant, Pinzimini. The food was great and the chef was wonderful. He gave out a jar of spice/rub to all the fathers that day. The only bad thing about the brunch buffet was the flies that swarmed the desserts and some of the food items. It was horrible. It was likely to happen with the hot summer and doors opening and closing.
Good thing to know is the hotel also allow guests staying at its neighboring Westin Mission Hills Resort Villas to use the amenities with permission.
This is one of the nicest properties we stayed at in Palm Springs! Very much worth it despite the minor set backs!
