How to Get There
Booked a long weekend away with friends and had a fabulous time drinking and eating by the pool, taking in the gorgeous scenery, and relaxing. The staff is attentive, friendly and professional. The grounds are well manicured and posh. And while you're in a prime location steps away from bars/restaurants/shopping of downtown Palm Springs, Avalon Hotel feels like a hidden oasis miles away from downtown...it's wonderful!
My wife and I loved this property so much we decided to get married here. We also frequent the hotel multiple times a year sometimes just for the Chi Chi margaritas. It's one of our favorite hotels in the area and an easy walk or bike ride to so many vintage shops.
Quick one night getaway at this little gem in P.S. Great service, great food and a fantastic location. Had lunch at Chi Chi’s and they chilled by the adult pool for the afternoon. Will be back for sure!
I never saw the beautiful bungalows pictured, though that was certainly in my mind when booking. I was in a building that genuinely resembled a motor hotel, with a room that faced a very unattractive street. The room was large, bathroom was pretty (loved the Momo bath products) and housekeeping was prompt and professional. Loved the music around the pool, the restaurant was as overpriced as everything in Palm Springs (beautiful food presentation, though). Nicolas was very kind - the entire staff was very kind and we were very grateful to have been given an early check in when the room was available. Eric on night duty could not have been nicer. The team is just stuck with a very average physical property at rates that can be astronimical - I sure would have liked to see those bungalows though. And now I am stuck waiting for days for my 'room hold deposit' that was never used to be returned. Nice policy (not). When the hotel is overwhelmed by a wedding (as it was during our stay), all bets are off. It is noisy and unsuited for groups. For what they are charging for the bungalows, I might recommend looking next door at Serena Villas where we ended up for dinner one night. I think we'll stay there in the future just due to asthetics and the quality of the building.
The pools, grounds and overall vibe of the hotel are great as well as the spa. Just note that it is a refurbished motel type of property so the rooms are loud (can hear everything from pool and from hallways) and the refurb is just of the decor so there is still a motel vibe in areas.
