How to Get There
I attended a work related conference at this hotel in October; from the moment the taxi entered the hotel perimeter, I realized it would be an enjoyable time.
The staff at the reception were very friendly and even looked for a different room that would be closer to the meeting rooms I would be going to.
The whole ambiance around the hotel was really pleasant, and despite being very large it was still feeling nice and easy to navigate.
The room was very comfortable and with a nice view over the gold course. The food was amazing, congrats to the Chef. The 4 days were a delight and I even felt as if I was having a small vacation, really nice place and service.
I had some mixed reviews of the property. Overall, not a fan of Marriott properties because they feel old. This property seems to be half renovated and I was in a renovated room. Overall, I’ve worked in hospitality a while and I definitely wouldn’t stay here again. Here’s why:
-Food was amazing and consistent
-The front landscaping (water and flamingos) were beautiful
-Golf course in front of the mountain skyline is beautiful
-BUGS: I had ants (10-15 of them) crawling all over my nightstand. Disgusting, right?! I later spoke to another guest who had the same issue and also saw a 2 inch roach.
-NOISE: I live in a city where I’m used to sirens, loud noises, etc but was woken up at 3:30 am from loud music blasting from the lobby/atrium. I called to file a complaint, the front desk seemed to be used to these type of complaints. Did the property care? No, I got no sort of follow up whatsoever. Further, the resort is aware of this issue as I saw the last day of my stay that there is a select area for quite rooms where the hallway doors are able to be closed. However, those rooms are not renovated. I didn’t sleep good the rest of my time here.
-pool: was not impressed, it was old, and also crowded
We always stay in the Jasmine area as it is quieter and close to a large pool and gym. This is at least our third stay here, this time for one week . Check in was a breeze and our stay was fabulous. The rooms are substantial in size and very comfortable. The kitchens are modestly equipped for people that do not like to cook - we do and if we have company, need to borrow pots. Still one of our favourite places in the desert and we will be back.
