Luxury by the Nile, excellent service and attentive staff
Reviewed 2 hours ago

We decided to celebrate our anniversary at this hotel. We had attended its opening a few years ago and we toured a few rooms. We called in to reserve the Nile Luxury Suite and we mentioned it was our anniversary. We also mentioned our food allergies.
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay a wonderful memorable one.
We walked into our spotless clean suite and there was a chocolate mousse cake filled with respberries in the shape of a heart waiting for us. Rose petals spread in another heart shape on our bed.
The suite has a master bedroom / bathroom with French doors that separate it from the living area which has a kitchen and a guest bathroom. A cozy balcony overlooking the Nile can be accessed from the bedroom and from the living room.
We enjoyed an superb Turkish dinner at Othmanly, after we had drinks at the hotel bar.
Breakfast next morning was hosted in a bright sun-lit area also over looking the Nile. Breakfast had a variety of food to suit all tastes.
We went swimming in the early morning in the roof top pool, and the views of Cairo and the Nile were breathtaking!
I enjoyed a deep tissue massage (thank you Nour) that was relaxing.
We would definitely go back to the Kempinski where the staff are attentive and friendly.

Beautiful hotel on the Nile - lovely rooftop pool and bar
Reviewed 2 days ago

This is a beautiful hotel on the Nile in downtown Cairo. The decor is gorgeous though ever so slightly tattered around the edges with carpet stains and upholstery that could use an update. The bed was a queen size with a cushy mattress and lots of nice pillows. Poor lighting in a hotel room is a huge pet peeve of mine but our room at the Kempinski had so much light with beautiful lamps, a painting light and even a crystal chandelier. Lovely! The room darkening curtains were excellent - not a lick of light came into the room from the outside. And we had a wee balcony to step out on and enjoy the view of the Nile, Giza and some of Cairo. The bathroom is large with thick thirsty towels. So nice after some of the thin stiff ones we encountered over the last two weeks in Turkey. We discovered after a shower that the hair dryer in our room had a three-prong plug but there was no such outlet anywhere in the room. We asked housecleaning for help and they said they’d bring an adapter but never did. Perplexing that they would not have a dryer with the proper plug. We pulled out one of our adapters hoping that we’d remember to take it with us when we left. There’s a rooftop pool with a few lounge chairs which are always occupied even when it’s chilly, plus a few tables with chairs. It got very crowded in the late afternoon but still a very pleasant place to relax and have a drink after a day of touring. Our reservation included a breakfast buffet and it was one of the most extensive spreads we’ve seen. It was delicious and included freshly squeezed juices and made-to-order egg station. Sadly, we had to choose a boxed breakfast the second morning because of an early pick-up but that was generously loaded with sandwiches, pastries, fruit , a bottle of water and a juice box. More than we could possibly eat which made our driver quite happy when we passed some to him. On our last evening at the hotel, we stopped in at the Chocolate Lounge for some wonderful chocolate laden pastries. They had been calling our names every time we passed through the lobby and the generous portions were worth every delectable bite. Perfect end to our stay.
