Brand-new Budapest crash pad housed in a 19th-century villa opposite Europe's largest thermal baths
Occupying a grand, whitewashed 19th-century villa close to Budapest's City Park, Mirage Fashion Hotel has a neo-Renaissance façade that hides 37 cozy rooms. Opened in November 2012, this brand-new crash pad is modern, uncluttered and comfortably minimal, brightened up by warm tartan fabrics and vintage black-and-white fashion prints.
Bed and Bath
Guestrooms are more homey than hip. Beds are firm and are dressed with mirrored headboards and rich burgundy spreads; the neutral palette is snazzed up with color-clash tartan prints and red detailing. Bathrooms are stocked with plenty of signature products but are a little on the plain side.
There's no restaurant on-site, but a breakfast spread is served in the basement dining room. There are plans to open an alfresco terrace overlooking Heroes' Square and the leafy City Park later in 2013; in the meantime, the location near Andrássy Avenue puts you within strolling distance of downtown Budapest — and the staff is armed with drinking and dining tips.
