How to Get There
I booked a room for one night for myself and my child with special needs. I purposely booked the Deluxe Room with a King bed because it was depicted on the Sheraton Bucks County website as a room with a separate sitting area. Because of her special needs, my daughter can sometimes be a noisy sleeper (stimming, etc) so I figured we’d both sleep better if we had a little space.
That was not the case, however. We had one room with a king bed and a sofa bed. That would be fine if that’s what I had expected — and what had been depicted online — but that was not the case. I paid extra for that room because I really wanted that space, esp after what would be a long day at Sesame Place.
Moreover, I requested a pack & play in my online reservation. The day before check-in, I called the hotel to confirm that the hotel offered pack & plays. The young man told me that if it wasn’t in my room when I arrived, to call down to the front desk. He and I had the same conversation when I checked in. I got upstairs and after eating, called down to figure out the room situation. He asked if the pack & play was there. I told him no and he said they’d have it brought up.
Well, as you may have guessed, I’ve since checked out and am still waiting on the pack & play. Also, when I called down to the front desk to sort out the room situation, I was offered a comped breakfast, then the next person on the phone told me he’d have to get back to me on that and on the whole room situation. They never called back.
I was hungry the next morning and tired enough to order room service after sleeping so poorly with my kiddo in the bed with me. But I couldn’t even order breakfast, even to pay for it myself, because the phone never connected, despite multiple attempts. Once it rang but that was it. Mostly it was dead.
I tried to mention some of this at check out but they clearly didn’t care and kept calling me “Miss Katie” as if I were their preschool teacher.
All in all, a banner stay! 😂
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We were in town for 6 nights and visited Sesame across the street, but also took trips to Philly (only 30 minutes away) as well as Crayola Experience in Easton (75 minutes from this hotel). We could see right into Sesame Place from our hotel and the shuttle to/from the park was extremely convenient as the shuttle was able to bypass lines at the parking lot.
The staff was incredibly helpful. When we arrived, it seemed that our room fridge was not really cold. Maintenance was in our room looking into the problem within 5 minutes of my husband reporting the issue. They were able to replace the fridge quickly so that we could use it right away.
Our room was clean, as was the entire hotel. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the pool area as well. There were plenty of chairs to sit by the pool and relax. The water was cool but not cold.
The only downside to this hotel had to do with the fact that only two of three elevators seemed to be in service. Unfortunately, it could take a little while to wait for the elevator to go up or down. The stairwell was an option, but it was a bit warm and I would not recommend it for traveling up multiple floors, especially during a hot day.
This hotel was exceptionally pet friendly. There was an area for the dog to use the "facilities" in the back of the hotel and we had lots of conversations about our dog with fellow guests. She was welcomed by guests and staff alike. We were able to leave her in our room during the day and take her out and about the hotel while on a leash. We were thrilled to be able to take her with us as it eliminated the need and cost associated with boarding. We would not hesitate to use this hotel again in the future.
We stayed here on a trip to Sesame Place which ended up being longer than expected due to a water main break that closed the park for two days. We were able to extend our hotel stay and were pleased with the hotel. The staff was professional and helpful and the room was spacious and clean. The hotel is located across the street from Sesame Place and has a complimentary shuttle to the park. Our room actually had a view right into the park which was interesting to see.
Very nice hotel. Very convenient location and excellent amenities on site. This is not a 5 star location and I suspect as a result gets a little beaten up by patrons of sesame place. It is reasonable, well located and a good spot overall.
I loved this stay. The staff, at EVERY turn, scrambled to go above and beyond, to be friendly and sensitive, and to try and make my (sometimes difficult) three year old happy.
The room was clean and comfortable, and we got exactly what we asked for.
The hotel has no ice machines, but the staff goes out of their way to keep this from being a drawback, stocking complimentary bags of ice at the desk.
The hotel is located just across the busy street from Sesame Place. It isn't easily and safely walkable due to where the entrance of the park is, but they provide a GREAT complimentary shuttle that runs constantly while the park is open. We got to know three different drivers during our many trips back and forth over four days, and all three went out of their way to really make our experience great. We never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a ride. I tipped all three once - and all three acted appreciative but genuinely surprised to be tipped (I saw no one else tip while there, but that's just not right - they clearly went out of their way to be great hosts in their job).
The pool is also great. Clean, well maintained. Only strange things: the pool room air temp was lower than we could get our room temps, which made getting out of the pool more difficult than in other hotels; and, the water tasted strangely salty. Not a bad thing - just... unusual.
My only frustration is that they hosted some birthday party event in their facilities one day, and we had to circle the lot for awhile waiting for a parking space. I'd appreciate it if they made non-hotel-guests park someplace else (I hear there is more parking nearby, but in a much more difficult to get to place) so that they don't put their hotel guests through that experience.
Note: we purchased a hotel and park package that also got us admissions and hotel benefits. It was very worth it.
In all, we loved it. We will undeniably stay there again when we next visit (maybe in a couple years when our three year old is five or so).
