In the Area
Featuring such Canadian specialties as Vancouver Island black cod and Canadian wild arctic caribou chops, the award-winning Bearfoot Bistro in Whistler Village is a local favorite. And be sure to take a swig from the restaurant’s 20,000-bottle wine cellar, as well. If you really want to utilize your gourmet in-suite kitchen, check into the Whistler Cooking School. Classes are run both day and evening, for beginners and experts alike. The guest chefs are stars in their own right. When it’s time to party, the Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub is both a go-to for locals and visitors alike for a lively night out, be it for a pint or a pie — steak and Guinness pie, that is. Dancing afterward? Everybody ends up at Buffalo Bills, where top DJs spin late into the night.
How to Get There
My wife and I are world travelers and one thing we truly appreciate is a friendly accommodating front desk. We were on day 7 of an 11 day trip and ready for a special birthday weekend when we checked into Pan Pacific Mountainside.
As travelers, we understand how a room and hotel can make or break your holiday.
They had us booked in a murphy bed room which was charming, however the bed sits a little lower than what is comfortable for my bad back.
I called down to the front desk and talked with Courtney, I think she is the front desk manager. If not she should be promoted immediately, her attitude was cheerful and accommodating.
She was kind enough to give us an upgrade to a suite and WOW! She made our weekend truly special.
I highly recommend getting a 1 bedroom suite, there is a small granite kitchen with everything you need to feel at home. Each suite has a fireplace a sofa, chair, dining table and two nice flat screen TV's. All the doors and windows are wood trimmed giving you that mountain feel.
The master bedroom is lovely, the bed was very comfortable, a must for this traveler.
The bathroom is bright with a nice shower, over sized tub and extra lighted vanity mirror for the ladies.
We were there for the start of Crank Works a huge mountain biking event that is a big deal in Whistler. We were able to sit on our balcony and watch the bikers catching mad air on the multiple jumps as they raced down the mountain.
The hotel is at the base of the mountain, right across from the BLACKCOMB Gondola, literally a 30 second walk from your room and multiple bars and restaurants in the village.
There is an Irish Pub downstairs where there is good food, drinks, and always a party going on.
One more thing we really like is the Pan Earth program. Here is how it works: they give you a $10 credit per day when you do not use the housekeeping service. Who needs to waste water on washing sheets when your staying for 3 nights or less?
In closing I want to give a shout out and thank Courtney from New Zealand for making us feel so special on my birthday weekend! The birthday card and Cashew turtle from Chocolaterie Rocky Mountain was the perfect ending for a great birthday in Whistler!
I've stayed at the Mountainside location many times, but this time service as absent and self-parking was ridiculous! Granted the room was adequate and clean, but the quality of service and staff in general has sadly plummeted. There are so many other options in Whistler, we won't be back to Pan Pacific unfortunately.
Stayed here with family for 4 nights to start our holiday after flying to Vancouver and catching shuttle bus here from airport. Transport was seamless and stay at hotel excellent. Room has great mountain views, kitchenette so able to make own breakfasts and snacks with maid service everyday to tidy our room and wash our dirty dishes....much appreciated,, Small outdoor pool and hot tub which was most welcome at end of the day.
Excellent location for gondola which is on your door step and close to all of company’s we had booked tours with. Whistler is thriving resort with loads going on and lots of excellent restaurants and coffee shops. Has been great start to our holiday....busy doing activities during the day and relax8ng at night....although you can go to Irish pub for live music and food which is on hotel site if you want to as well as lots of other choice,
Thanks for a great stay. Excellent helpful friendly service from everyone.
We spent 2 nights in Whistler and loved every moment. The hotel is in a great location. The room has a fully equipped kitchen so you could always eat in. Wasn’t too keen on the pull down bed but it did make the room bigger. The air con could have been cooler, but that’s just my preference.
All in all great location very clean and tidy.
Thoroughly loved Whistler
Pan Pacific Mountainside location can't be beat. Staff, service, room and facilities were awesome. The pool temp could have been a little warmer but my kids still loved it. We mentioned we were celebrating an anniversary and there was a nice surprise for us in the room, nice touch. We'll definitely be back!
