How to Get There
Great location near the base of Whistler mountain and good value. All staff were pleasant and helpful. Lots of facilities within the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was fairly small and the window looked out onto a wall but it was perfectly ok as we didn’t visit Whistler to spend time in the hotel room! Secure ski storage is staffed at key times and accessible via the reception staff at other times. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
We had a pleasant stay at the crystal lodge which is why we picked it again for our stay this year. The hotel is in the prime location close to the gondolas and to all the restaurants and shopping. Everywhere we walked to we could see the Crystal Lodge in our view. Very good hotel for a family as has full kitchen facilities and the beverages offered after a day on the slopes was very welcoming.
My partner and I stayed at the Crystal Lodge between the 26/01 - 06/02 and we were extremely pleased with both the hotel and the location. Having stayed in the upper village before and feeling a bit isolated I can confirm that the area the Crystal is situated is right in the heart of everything (shops, bars, restaurants).
Extremely close walk to the main lifts up the mountain.
Slap bang in the middle of Whistler village.
Close to all restaurants & bars, the Crystal actually has restaurants in the complex which means it’s easy to grab breakfast before going out on the slopes.
Great boot room & ski valet.
Small but very clean hot tub & pool area.
King room is modern and clean, great shower & bed.
The staff were all extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were kept spotless by the cleaning staff, and they tried to clean when we were out on the mountain.
Highly recommend this hotel to any serious skier who wants a base that has everything needed for a ski holiday to remember!!!
We booked the Crystal Lodge through our travel agent as the deal she was able to obtain also included lift passes for the duration of our stay in Whistler, although I had researched the hotel beforehand and decided it would be a great place to stay. I wasn’t disappointed, with the proximity of the hotel to everything, meaning we were only a few steps away from anything that we wanted to do. I was also glad that we had selected a deluxe king studio, as it gave us that little bit more space and we were able to self cater breakfast in the morning.
Our room was on the second floor and faced Whistler Stroll. Whistler is quite noisy and there are plenty of people around during snow season and expect noise. Even with double glazed windows, we heard plenty of street sounds, partying and music at all hours. Next time, I will ask for a room that faces away from Whistler Stroll, just because the party scene isn’t really my thing and I’d prefer uninterrupted sleep.
I loved that the hotel has a swimming pool, spa and sauna and found these so enjoyable after a day on the slopes and as a great way to unwind and meet travellers from all over the world. I loved the boot and glove drying facilities available at no cost and the washing and drying facilities that enabled us to wash everything before our onward flights ($2 per wash, taking 35 minutes and $2 per dry, taking 45 minutes). It really means that absolutely everything is on site.
The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable and modern. I personally find showers over baths a bit old fashioned, but they seem quite common across North America. Otherwise, you will find the beds, pillows, couches are other amenities are of a very high standard. The hotel has various little treats that they rotate each night - think hot chocolate, fondue, beer tasting and that’s a lovely little treat.
The place is pretty fabulous and is highly recommended. I would have not hesitation in returning and recommending Crystal Lodge as a fabulous place to stay.
Excellent location has it is only a very short walk to the gondola. The cleanliness of the premises in general is appreciated. The employees are friendly and look to help. The room with double beds are a bit small however. The hot tub is amazing as the exterior pool.
