How to Get There
I stayed in the Trump International Hotel as my usual go-to hotels (L'Hermitage / Four Seasons) in Vancouver were fully booked - and I was quite impressed. I suspect a lot of people are put off by the brand - and I did wince somewhat when the taxi driver at the airport asked me where i was going. However I have to admit that the staff and service were truly outstanding (from the bellmen, through the concierge, to the waiting staff at breakfast).
Very good hotel. Don't be put off by the name!
If you plan on spending some time in Vancouver, do yourself a favor and stay at Trump. This property is in the heart of downtown. It's close to the cruise terminal. The rooms are modern/first class and the personnel treat you like a rock star.
I was in Vancouver for a conference, and booked late. Trump Hotel was available and is conveniently located in downtown Vancouver. I stayed for three nights. The service was excellent as expected from the hotel. The room was very clean and spacious. The sound-proofing was good and you will enjoy peace and quiet in your stay. The only place you will hear noise is from the front door as there is a gap in the bottom of the entrance door. My first night was a Saturday, and there was a pool party downstairs. I was woken up by the returning guests around 3am. This was my only complaint as I could hear them from the outside. Once they are in their own room, I could hear them no more. My only other tidbit was the charges for snacks and juices stocked. It was quite expensive. The hard liquor was almost the same price as the juices. They provide two water bottles in the first night, and nothing afterwards. The complimentary breakfast was good, but the choices are the same for each day.
I hosted some clients between June 8 and the 13th.
One group selected to stay at the Trump International.
They left very impressed and appreciated the hotels attention to detail and the appearent superb customer service.
To address a need for a presentation and informal wine / cheese gathering on the evening of the 9th , the staff at the hotel were very accommodating in securing a third suite at short notice and assisted in ensuring that we had some special arrangements taken care of to ensure we maintained a great environment for our guests .
Well done staff and management .
Say what you will about its namesake, but this Trump hotel is total luxury. The room is beautiful. Everything is automated from control panels on the wall - the lights, the blinds, temperature. The washroom was very luxurious as well.
The staff were courteous throughout though we really didn't need anything from them.
The bed and linens were perfect to sink into after a day of exploring the city. I'd definitely stay again!
