Best Stay in Vancouver
Reviewed 3 days ago

Had a great stay and the Views are beautiful. The roof deck spa with an indoor pool were a nice added touch and the workout room was well equipped. The room was beautiful and loved the elegant tub and shower area. Technology filled and great service from Staff. Will stay there again.

Great Hotel but didn't meet expectation
Reviewed 1 week ago

Alright so let's start from the beginning. We arrived at YVR around 12:00 but had a few things to do prior to checking in at 3. Once 3pm had rolled around we decided we'll go check in now. There's parking available for the hotel in the alley accessed by Bute or Thurlow st. There's also a Valet service.

The Parking
Parking in the 17$/day is viable so long as you park and don't need to go anywhere else again, if you do you'll be paying more than 17$/day as you're charged every time you go out. It would be much better if you could pay the 17$ and come and go as you please for the 24hr period.
After discovering that I opted for the Valet service for 55$/night. The Valet service is absolutely great and definitely meets expectations.

Check in was great as well the front desk lady was very helpful and also directed us to the concierge to make reservations for our dinner.

Getting into the room
The room was great -- There's a tablet on the wall that controls blinds, drapes, lighting, and climate. Bathroom had plenty of light and the shower was very nice as well. Had a great sleep on the bed and enjoyed the balcony view that was a part of our room.

My problem with this hotel and it's a valid one for what you're paying.

We paid 350$ for our 1 night stay. Everything in our room looked great until we got a little more detailed. We decided to check our bed as we do with every hotel. Upon further observation you could see that one of the pillow cases had rather deterring brown stains on it. What the brown stains were is still to be determined but it was ... disgusting to say the least. I expected far more from a Trump hotel with such high ratings. I immediately called down to the front desk and she was extremely apologetic and offered to send new pillows(obviously). I hang up the phone and two minutes later I had the general manager calling me to apologize as well. A few moments later we had housekeeping bring us up two more pillows that were also a bit firmer(what I asked for). Upon checking out the next morning the Manager wanted to see me personally but was in a meeting. He offered to give me a deal the next time I stay at the hotel.

However I'm rarely in Vancouver and have only been in Vancouver maybe twice in the last 4-5 years so I will not be needing another room here for quite some time. I felt that the disgusting stains on the pillow really fell below par for what you expect when you're paying 350$/night. If you really wanted to apologize and make it up to me a simple upgrade would suffice.

The overall experience of the hotel was great, staff was friendly, I just didn't appreciate having what looked like "poop" stains on my pillow... As I'm sure anyone wouldn't want. You guys really need to stay on top of the housekeepers because something like this at a hotel of this caliber is absolutely unacceptable.

I'm rating this Average as opposed to poor solely because of the service I received and the quality of the hotel. You would have received a 5/5 from me if it wasn't for the pillow issue that left me in disgust. I've stayed at cheaper hotels before in the past and have never come across stained pillow cases....

Photos included.

The hotel and service was excellent! One of the best hotel experiences. The hotel was modern, the restaurant was excellent, and hotel service was superb. A five star hotel for sure and very much with cost.

Top drawer hotel

This hotel really is first class throughout.
Centrally located downtown and only a 5 minute walk down to the water and Canada place.
We stayed in a grand delux king room, which was a studio type layout and had a large balcony area with seating (a bit chilly in january though!!). The room was large and spacious with fixtures and fittings that were in keeping with the overall high standard of the hotel. The bathroom area was large with a stand-alone tub and a very large walk in shower area, along with two sinks.
The room had a 65 inch TV and was spotless throughout, as was the whole hotel to be fair. Very good nespresso machine in the room to as well as a pull out drawer safe, which was a great idea! All of the staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful without being over bearing.
Our rate included breakfast which was in one of the lovely restaurants downstairs. The selection was excellent and could either be buffet or off the a la carte menu. The staff were really helpful with my wife suffering from celiac disease and had her breakfast prepared separately. I used the gym at the hotel a couple of times and it was more than apt. Well equipped with various cardio machines as well as a good selection of weight machines and dumb bells. There is also a separate yoga/stretching room for use.
I had read previous reviews of the hotel being noisy due to music from the bars, which caused a bit of concern prior to check in, but we never had any similar issues or noticed anything like this.
Overall this really is a great hotel and one of the better ones I have ever stayed in. I would not hesitate to recommend it and one we will be returning to on out next ski trip.

Absolutely perfect!
