This is the fourth year of going to Vancouver and staying at the Westin. They finished renovations from last year and the slow elevator issues are behind them. Room was clean and modern and views were great. Staff was helpful and polite.I'll be back next year. Central location and great food nearby.
I travel all the time for work, and this is one of my go to’s. It’s also great for families, as sometimes I bring the fam with me. Rooms are comfy, great location, lots of stuff do do: outdoor pool is heated all year round, fitness centre, steam room, water taxi close by, sea wall, library across the street, shopping district is right there, etc...Hendricks is the in-house restaurant, and its the best. Menu is spot on, and the staff are amazing!! Big shout out Robert! Thanks for all you do! Highly recommend to anyone.
We have stayed at this property before, but not for a while. Our room was beautiful, upgraded from our last visit. Very spacious one bedroom with a belcony. Large sitting area, great for relaxing or entertaining. Entrance area with area for shoes, coats etc. Mini bar, fridge and all the Westin ammenities, of course heavenly king bed that you expect at Westin properties. Nice washroom, shower smaller than some other properties but still nice. Really enjoyed the newer decor. Used the gym, small but workable and decent sauna. Nice and quiet for being right downtown and close to everything you need. It would be great to see them add the Westin Lounge for SPG guests. Love the late checkout.
This Westin Grand is primely located and you are always warmly greeted by concierge making you feel it's the right to stay here again. Nothing is too much of a hassle and you're right in the CBD if you want to shop for anything as there are so many options all around. The hotel is always very clean and quiet in the spacious rooms, which is another reason Westin Grand is my first preference. Hendricks restaurant in the lobby is an excellent choice for meals or drinks with excellent service. The workout space is regularly checked on by housekeeping so no issues there using the equipment. My only issue this time was a strange payment hold on my card at time of payment for the full cost of the stay on top of my credit card on file for incidentals as well as the room fully paid for already. So I had three times the room-price taken from my accounts for a month until the hold ended yet neither the accounts team or my banks would help. Never happened before and hopfully never again! Also, best to double check if you ''Go Green" and opt for points to emphasise upon checkout your choice, as I again haven't received points (just a minor annoyance). So just the accounting side issues otherwise another brilliant stay and certainly suggest to friends to stay here too!
The location is great and the bed was very comfortable (as usual with Westins). A few things were a little annoying and detracted from our stay. When we got in, they directed us to Hendricks and said we could still get food there or order room service. The bartender told us the kitchen had just closed and we would have to order room service from our room. She was not friendly. We ordered room service. Then they called back to say we couldn't get what we'd ordered and had to order from the limited menu. Not really a big deal, just wish we'd known from the beginning because we would have gone out for food. The next evening my husband stopped into Hendricks and ordered a drink. They served him, he asked how much, they said "you're not with the party? This is a private function, the restaurant is closed" and then TRIED TO TAKE HIS DRINK AWAY! It's the only place to eat in the hotel and was closed to patrons. We went out, no big deal. Probably better food anyway, but another weird experience with the hotel restaurant and staff. We pre-ordered breakfast and it showed up half an hour early while we were still sleeping. Again, not a big deal, but by this point we were a little irritated. The bed was very comfortable though.
