How to Get There
We had a fantastic stay at the Rio Sofitel after attending a wedding in Aracruz. Across the road from the beach were the hotel has an area with lounges and umbrellas. The hotel has a couple of beautiful pools and the outlook from the bar by the pool is beautiful! We didn’t eat at the hotel as there are many places along the beach.
I’ve stayed in his hotel for 4 entire months, business days. I really love the location and the food (both hotel’s standard restaurant and Michelin-Le Pre Catelan).
The breakfast view and the Sunday seafood lunch are perfect.
Staff was very friendly and polite, and as a frequent guest, they were always expecting me and knew my preferences.
The pool is small, but the back pool was very restful.
The rooms are old, but large. They have big comfortable beds as well.
I heard they will renew the hotel to reach a true 5-stars experience.
I would definitely recommend and come back after renewal.
As suggested by the title this hotel stinks literally The hotel was run down, dank is the most appropriate description the sense we got was that it may have been a grand hotel at some point but that point was a long time ago staff showed no interest in their jobs and could not have cared less about you as their guest The rooms don't even go there words fail me as to how this place allows it self to be called a five star hotel and even more surprised it fly's under the Sofitel banner
I really hope they will get on with renovating this hotel soon, as the rooms and all public places, restaurants etc are outdated and does not meet the standards nor expectations of a international traveller anymore.
My wife and I had four nights at Sofitel Rio Copacabana. The room had a strong smell of moisture. The room above us was under going renovation which resulted in some heavy noise. In this way it was impossible to rest in the room between 9-17.
The view from the restaurant and the gym are excellent.
