How to Get There
The hotel has a great location for access to beach and restaurants. It provides beach services - chairs and umbrellas - for guests, which does not seem to be common for all beach front hotels. There are numerous, good restaurants within walking. On check in, we were given a room next to the elevator bays. We immediately called the front desk to ask about a room further from the elevators as they were very loud in this room. The staff responded by not only moving us, but giving us an upgrade to a full beach view room. I did not expect an upgrade, only a move, and was pleased by this response. In addition, the staff was great about making us comfortable after check out, but before we needed to leave for the airport for our 10 pm flight back to the States. We were given a key card to access the common areas so we could relax in our lay-over time. My big complaint is the spa: it was really dirty - grit on the floor, smelling of mold, thin, yellowed towels, with only one of three whirlpools working. There were too many people (including children) using the limited facilities. It seems that for a small price, they will allow day use for guests, even if they do not have treatments scheduled. On top of that, the treatments were expensive by Seattle standards and nothing special. Too many people, children yelling, expensive and dirty - not a good spa experience. But, the practical side of having a decent hotel within safe walking distance of restaurants and good beach access makes this a fine place to stay.
Staff was friendly enough but the rooms and grounds need better maintenance (shower vents and weird oil stain on the wall). Rooftop pool closed for renovations but wasn’t informed until we asked how to get there. Gym is also closed for renovations, temporary setup is in a conference room. We unfortunately also saw cockroaches near the pool dining area (near the planters) which was really off putting.
Excellent beach and restaurant location walking distance to the beach and many area local restaurants. Clean and spacious rooms, free internet, great food variety during breakfast. I ordered room service twice (lunch and dinner the day of arrival), the food exceeded my expectations
