How to Get There
I stayed last week in this Hilton for 5 nights. I am a Hilton Diamond member for several years running and have seen several Hiltons around the world. This is definitely the worst.
Reading other reviews here referring to the property as "dated" are being generous. Everything is old, run down and needs complete refurbishing. Even though I had a full ocean view room, the bathroom and room fittings were all very old. shower was moldy and stained. The bath products arent even the Hilton products.
The reception staff all seemed preocupied with other things and not happy to help with anything. They were actually rolling their eyes.
The only positive thing I can say is the location is nice. The staff at breakfast were very nice and the breakfast food was really good. Great omelettes.
Everything else was really bad and I will never come back to this hotel.
Went there for 3 nights as part of a vacation in Rio. Chose it because of its location and rooftop pool with superb views. We weren’t disappointed with the views that’s for sure, very hard to beat. They had a little section reserved on the beach which was nice, but some vendors are still allowed to come. Food at their main restaurant was decent but nothing special. Plenty of options outside anyway, and always felt safe (but were careful). Hotel needs some renovations though as it felt old. In general the staff was very nice and accommodating but the queues at the front desk were interminable on daily basis!! They should have a larger front desk for sure. Overall happy with our stay but we’re also happy to leave after 3 days.
I lucked into a room on the 36th floor with a view of the beach and Sugarloaf--I could just stare out the window all day long--the view is stunning! My room is super-quiet and very comfortable. Feels safe as a solo female traveler. Good restaurants, gym and pools.
My first time at the Rio Hilton, the rooms were spacious but a little dated, the inroom Wi-Fi was horrible I usually had to do my emails in the lobby Executive Lounge area. I changed rooms 3 times due to maintenance issue but the staff were friendly and very accommodating. This hotel offers beach service with a separate private area although street vendors do tend to solicit as you’re laying out. The pool on the 4th floor is great and easily accessible but the roof pool will take some trekking as you have to go to 37th floor and transfer elevators. The rooftop pool is private and offers 360 view. The concierge in the evening was amazing, she gave me all great recommendations for surrounding restaurants for dinner. The subway (Cardeal Arcoverde Station) is a little bit of a trek but taxis and Uber is easily accessible.
Great location!! Great views from roof bar and patio. Rooms are very small. We could hear the elevator from our room thru the ventilation system. Had to wear ear plugs to sleep and even then could hear the elevators thru the vent system. I am not talking about a bing when it arrived on the floor. I am talking about a noise that sounded like a jet as the elevator went up and down. We asked others if they could hear the same and they said yes. Major issue for this hotel. Hotel needs work and it is a bit dirty and banged up. Small executive lounge at night on the lobby floor. Hotel staff polite and helpful.
