How to Get There
I booked the hotel as a surprise for my wife's 60th Birthday. The hotel is a short walk from the main heart of Bratislava old town and ideal for sightseers.
Our room was spacious enough, with a very large bed, air con (which was needed as it was very hot) and a free mini bar of water, soft drinks and a can of lager - unexpected but gratefully received . The room was clean and fresh with crisp sheets and well equipped.
A good size bathroom with fluffy white towels and a decent shower too.
The breakfast was plentiful and nicely presented. We ate twice in the evenings, including the tasting menu and the food was excellent as was the local wine and beer.
The staff were very helpful and we could not really find fault with anything - my wife was given a birthday card and a half bottle of wine too which was a really nice touch.
The TV was large and had Netflix, You Tube and other stations too numerous to mention... but we were there for the sights, not TV.
If we go back to Bratislava we would stay here again. No complaints at all.
Price-wise it was what I expected to pay.
The hotel location is great. The lobby and the reception is nice. The rooms are quite small for 5 star hotel. The same applies to the bathroom, it is tiny and the weakest point. The smart tv and free mini bar are the pluses.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights to relax from our busy schedule and just have a calm vacation.
We chose this hotel based on the recommendations and the location and our expectations were exceeded.
During the check-in, the receptionists were nice and friendly and we received sparkling wine which was perfect after a walk in the hot weather outside with our luggage. Our luggage was then carried to our room on the 2nd floor which was just the right size for us. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable.
We also loved the concept of the chess board tables which we used several times and highly enjoyed. The minibar offer is a bit misleading as there are only few drinks available which isn't like a typical minibar in a 5 stars hotel.
On our 2nd night we dinned at the hotel's restaurant and then had a whiskey at the bar. Both the restaurant and the bar were great! Dinner was excellent and I would highly recommend it. In case you prefer to eat out, there are many options right nearby the hotel. The bar doesn't have the common whiskey's and while I missed a good old Jack Daniels I enjoyed the selection they had.
Breakfast was nice especially due to the kind service of the waiters. The food itself wasn't inspired but very straight forward. We stayed for 3 nights and hoped to have some diversity but we were satisfied with the food anyway.
On the 3rd night we used the spa and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had two romantic hours in the Jacuzzi and sauna and the fruit plate was perfect.
Overall the vacation was beyond what we hoped for and the hotel was the perfect choice! We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bratislava and especially to couples.
The service offered and appearance of the rooms is 4 star, maybe less. When we arrived there was a lot of people in the lobby, most of them asking for a new room card. After few minutes we realized thare was a problem with a room card system. After check-in we went up to the room and the room key did not work, what a surprise. So we spent another couple of minutes by going down tothe reception and back to our room. The gym is not really a gym, no proper space for exercising. Breakfast room is also not sufficient for all the guests - very crowded.
From the bellman upon arrival, to the front desk agent checking me in, to the bartenders and waitstaff in the restaurant, everyone was wonderful. The lobby was clean, and the library/bar was very cozy and inviting. The room was great, the bed comfortable, and the rates very reasonable. Highly recommend it, and I will be back.
