How to Get There
Stayed here for 5 nights to celebrate my birthday. On arrival we were welcomed by Melanie, who did everything she could to make this an enjoyable stay for us, including moving us to a bigger room and complimentary drinks from the bar. A lovely way to start off the celebrations.
All the staff including Frédéric and Christophe were very polite and accommodating and always greeted us with a smile.
The hotel is in a great location too. A few minutes walk to the old port and about 8-10 minutes walk to the train station. Alternatively, you can take the metro to the station, located next to the hotel.
I recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon.
We stayed in a Duplex Suite located on the 5th floor. It had a tiny little balcony which was big enough to sit on and enjoy the view and to people watch. The room was big and spacious with the bedroom upstairs. There was 1.5 bathrooms, so no need to go up and down the stairs.
Location was very central so easy to walk or take public transport anywhere we wanted to go. Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful. A couple of glitches, but nothing to speak of. I would like to praise the staff during breakfast. Always smiling and nothing was too much trouble.
The reason for the average rating was an issue we had was with booking. We booked directly on the Accor Website. All the way through the booking process, the price was in GBP. When my husband paid, he was charged in EUR for the entire stay (along with a hefty exchange charge). We have an international card that we would have used had we known this would happen. My husband made several calls and emails to both the hotel and the Accor main booking switchboard. He asked that they reimburse the payment and allow us to pay with the other card. They refused again and again. In the end, they didn't accept responsibility for this, but offered us a voucher to be used at the hotel.
I work in this industry and was appalled at their lack of services or willingness to assist us. We did have a lovely stay in Marseille and did not allow this to ruin our holiday. I would think twice about booking with Accor again.
Next to all the city action, with quick walks to nearby shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. The amenities were great and the hotel was very clean and well kept. Right next to metro for easy access to train. The bar and restaurant inside overlook the marina and the sunset is beautiful.
