Beautiful Marseille
Reviewed 2 days ago

We went to Marseille on a Lufthansa Surprise. Booked this hotel due to location. We upgraded to a Harbor View, and it was fantastic. The view was of the Ferris Wheel, the harbor boats, and the seasonal market. The hotel lobby staff was very friendly, with restaurant recommendations. I will look for Sofitel partners now.

Convenient hotel at Old Port Marseille
Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This is a older hotel with charm like small elevators and classic staircase. Bathrooms are newer and practical. Service at the lobby was good. People were willing to assist and all my questions were answered in English. Location is extremely convenient and port view was fabulous.

Fantastic location

Boutique hotel with a fantastic view of the old port. We had breakfast and it was very good. The whole of my family enjoyed the stay at the hotel. The service was excellent. We will definitely come back to this hotel.

Couldn’t be better

A fantastic hotel. It’s a medium to large hotel but really has the feeling of a boutique hotel.
As has been mentioned in many reviews, the location at the heart of the Vieux Port is second to none. It’s well worth paying a little extra for a port view. The picture shows our view from the fifth floor - absolutely stunning.
Our deluxe room wasn’t huge but a perfectly good size for a 4 night stay. And it had a small balcony which you could step out onto. There was also a coffee machine and complimentary bottled water in the fridge.
Breakfast is a little pricey, but was beautifully presented, including locally-produced items and the facility to boil your own eggs, so you can have them just as you like them.
The friendly, helpful staff really make this hotel, with a particular mention to the staff working in the breakfast room who were really good fun.
Back to the location, the hotel has metro entrances right outside, and is close to shopping and restaurants. It’s also just across the road from the terminal for the boats to Isle d’If and Frioules.
Altogether one of my favourite hotels I think, and certainly one I would head for if returning to Marseilles.

First row view of harbor and demonstrations
Reviewed 2 months ago

Coming to France in the middle of the yellow vest demonstrations was always going to be an adventure. But Marseille and the Beauvau proved to be a great weekend away even under the circumstances. With a beautiful view of the harbor, this was also the best place to watch the action while sipping a cup of tea.
When the angry mob quieted down, all of France went out for dinner (naturellement), and there are plenty of excellent options in walking distance.
We were originally given a smaller dark room with one window facing an enclosed courtyard, but on request were moved to a wonderful bigger room to the back of the hotel. Harbor rooms cost a little extra but you also get a view from the lounge.
While not one of the largest ever, the breakfast buffet is one I still dream of even weeks after returning!
