A secluded boutique beach hotel, with breakfast, a welcome cocktail, a spa discount and a suite option
Think of a remote island escape, and you’re already halfway to Hotel U Capu Biancu. Right on the southern tip of the French island of Corsica, this four-star hotel is ideal for a secluded getaway. The hotel shows off blockbuster views of the surrounding bay, two private beaches for guests, a heated swimming pool to bathe stylishly in, plus a shiny TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
The nearest town of Bonifacio is about a 15-minute drive away, so you’re guaranteed a quiet break with nothing but the stellar scenery of the Gulf of Santa-Manza for company. There’s plenty to do in the surrounding Corsican landscape, though – hiking, horseback trails and canyoning are just some of the activities the island offers. If you just crave some R&R, there’s a dedicated napping area at U Capu Biancu, too. We won’t judge…
Rooms and suites
Both rooms and suites are decked out in lovely raw materials like wood or stone, have a light and airy feel and soft furnishings with warm tones. Superior rooms with sea view measure 237 to 258 square feet, and Junior suites with sea view include traditional architecture and alcoves among their 377 to 409 square feet. They both come with a balcony and views out over the bay.
U Capu Biancu’s restaurant does a neat line in local Corsican cuisine from head chef Gadjo El Hadji – expect seafood and meat dishes prepared with flair. There’s also the casual beachside eatery La Paillotte, which serves super-fresh, tasty seafood, alongside a lounge bar and terrace for sunset drinks.
Located right on the southern tip of Corsica, U Capu Biancu is a remote escape, rather than in the thick of it. The nearest town, Bonifacio, is about 15 minutes’ drive away, so the vibe here is all about seclusion. If you want to travel elsewhere in Corsica, it'd be a good idea to rent a car.
