How to Get There
5 night city break with my husband and stayed in this stunning hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, well maintained. Very nice breakfast each day with plenty to choose from. The staff are very polite, and do helpful they just can’t do enough for you. Our stay here was fantastic and would recommend to anybody.
This hotel is in a great location and walking distance to many things to see in Prague. The staff is very helpful in arranging transportation and answering any questions about restaurants and helping make reservations.
I can only recommend! I enjoyed the location, the staff, rooms, FaB.. you name it. If I ever visit Prague again, it will be an easy decision where to go. The bed was very comfortable too! Keep up the good work
A great stay during a business trip -- warm, comfy, airy room with high ceilings, a great bed, super linens, lots of water pressure in the shower, and friendly service. Also, the breakfast is great (but would have liked to have seen soy milk at the buffet). The only downside was there needs to be better soundproofing in the floors as on my first night there was someone staying in the room above mine and I could hear them stomping around -- very annoying. Yes, I would stay here again. Plan for about a 30min taxi ride from the airport (about 28euros) and be aware that not all taxis accept credit cards! Also, the hotel only provides breakfast -- dinner is a hunt elsewhere.
We loved our stay at the Unitas Hotel. We booked the family suite on the 3rd floor (2 rooms, 3 beds, plus spacious bathroom). While we did not need all that space & beds, we were there for 8 nights and it was the same rate as their other suites and gave us the benefit of having a separate bedroom if one of us needed to work/read/etc without bothering the other. The main room is very spacious, and includes a small kitchen area – sink, microwave & dishes/glasses/silverware. Also a mini-fridge, with items very reasonably priced (eg, 2 euro for a beer). Beds were great, temp/thermostat worked very well. Only minor room issue: shower water pressure not great, but adequate.
Hotel is lovely, with many areas to sit/relax. Even a small play area if you have little kids. The included breakfast buffet is very good, with hot scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes w/melted cheese, quiche sometimes. Lots of cold options as well. Coffee & cappuccino. You can order an omelet or other egg dish for a small extra fee. Open until 11am, which as late sleepers we appreciated.
The Unitas is very well located, a short walk from almost anywhere. Tram stop nearby as well. The entire staff was very gracious & helpful, starting even before our arrival with some email exchanges. There are multiple small markets nearby to get water/beer/wine etc. The only issue during our entire stay was noise outside on the street at night. Though it’s a small street, and the police station is across the street, there are a few bars in both directions, and at night lots of the patrons go outside and can raise a racket. The hotel staff – strangely – said they can do nothing about it, though the police station is right there (the staff told me the police do not care about the noise). Our room faced out onto this street (the street the hotel entrance is on). Most nights it was OK, but Friday & Sat nights were pretty bad, well past 2am. It would be nice if hotel management would speak to the bar owners and/or police to get the bar patrons to be more considerate of their guests and desire to sleep. The front desk folks also booked us airport car transfers for arrival & departure – definitely do this. Was 28 euro (700 koruna), not incl tip; well worth it!
Prague is a lovely city, and very reasonably priced compared to other European cities (and our native Boston). Good restaurants: Wine O’Clock Bar (LOVED IT); Portfolio; Beef Bar; Bellevue; Stoleti. Good museums: Prague Palace complex; Lobkowicz Palace; Museum of the Senses (FUN!); Steel Figures Gallery (great fun); Mucha Museum; Museum of Miniatures (very small place, even by Prague standards [lots of small museums everywhere], but very interesting); Jewish museums/synagogues/cemetery; Alchemy Museum; Sex Machines Museum (not for the faint-hearted); Glass Museum. The 1hr river cruise is also well worth doing. We walked everywhere, always felt safe. We highly recommend the Unitas Hotel!
