Overview

Celeb-favored Art Nouveau bastion of tradition and style since 1909, in Prague’s UNESCO-protected city center

The Lowdown

The century-old palace hotel is the epitome of elegance and tradition, with Viennese Art Nouveau–style facades and interiors, and a welcoming, intimate vibe that has had its guestbook signed by the likes of Mick Jagger and Uma Thurman. The 124 guest rooms and suites are spacious and feel even more so, thanks to high ceilings and terrific city views in some of them. They have sumptuous colors and textures— think damask draperies and striped overstuffed armchairs. The Gourmet Club restaurant has an English-style turn-of-the-20th-century ambience, with an open fire and grand piano, and has been named one of Prague’s top restaurants.

In the Area

The Palace Hotel is in the UNESCO-protected city center, just a few steps from lively Wenceslas Square and the Na Prikope shopping street. Peruse the international luxury brands and homegrown specialists like Moser, which has sold high-end Czech crystal and cut glass since 1857. The Prague State Opera is also quite close by, the most beautiful of the city’s opera houses, built in 1888 and a stage to musicians like Enrico Caruso, Richard Strauss, and Gustav Mahler.

Lovely hotel great location

Strolling distance to Wenceslas Square, Old town square, and Charles Bridge. This is a lovely hotel with great facilities. staff are very welcoming. Only downside was the bar closed early meaning residents could only have a drink in their room

First visit to Prague

Stunning hotel. Charming helpful staff. Excellent room with good amenities. Excellent location within easy reach of local sites within the old town.
Would thoroughly recommend as reflected in the rating.

All in one location.

First of all the rooms were immaculate. The check in seamless, staff efficient, but not in your face. The resaurant/bar lovely. Especially when you observe the long list/ photos of dignitaries and celebrities who have stayed in this very hotel. The location was just 3 minutes walk to old town as the hotel is in new town. Could not have been any closer to all beauty and history in Prauge

Perfectly placed

What a lovely place to stay. Near to all the important sights, and a calm haven when all the sight seeing is done. Clean, comfortable rooms, great food and friendly staff. A perfect place to stay. Highly recommended.

Great location for 3 days in Prague, pre-River Cruise

Excellent, clean hotel, classic architecture but all the modern conveniences. Not at all the bland corporate feel of the major chains (like the one that start with “H”). We spent three nights here for sightseeing. Great location ... 10 minute walk from Old City Square and similar walk to all the modern shops and malls. Buffet breakfast and the main restaurant have first rate food and service. Modern plumbing, electrical ... a strong wifi (free) throughout the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.
