The century-old palace hotel is the epitome of elegance and tradition, with Viennese Art Nouveau–style facades and interiors, and a welcoming, intimate vibe that has had its guestbook signed by the likes of Mick Jagger and Uma Thurman. The 124 guest rooms and suites are spacious and feel even more so, thanks to high ceilings and terrific city views in some of them. They have sumptuous colors and textures— think damask draperies and striped overstuffed armchairs. The Gourmet Club restaurant has an English-style turn-of-the-20th-century ambience, with an open fire and grand piano, and has been named one of Prague’s top restaurants.
In the Area
The Palace Hotel is in the UNESCO-protected city center, just a few steps from lively Wenceslas Square and the Na Prikope shopping street. Peruse the international luxury brands and homegrown specialists like Moser, which has sold high-end Czech crystal and cut glass since 1857. The Prague State Opera is also quite close by, the most beautiful of the city’s opera houses, built in 1888 and a stage to musicians like Enrico Caruso, Richard Strauss, and Gustav Mahler.
How to Get There
Fabulous surroundings and great staff. After first night found the room noisy because of the trams, was given another room immediately. Hotels restaurant was excellent and very reasonable for a five star hotel. Celebrated my 60th birthday here and got back to my room to find wine, chocolates and a handwritten card from the concierge.
The hotel was great with a nice ambience. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of offerings. The hotel itself is pleasant and the location is great right around the corner from Wenceslas Square and close to the shopping area. The only issue i had was that the sink in the bathroom was clogged and refusing to drain the water. The exec room upgrade is a bit of a hype. There was a connecting door to another room from where there was noise. However that was on one night and the rest of the stay was okay.
The hotel is conveniently located. Breakfast is really good. Rooms are good size, but outdated in my opinion. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good option for short stopover in Prague if your are not looking to be choosy
Booked this hotel as part of a British Airways package and we were not disappointed. Despite the name, the hotel does not have a very Art Nouveau style, but if you like Art Nouveau there's plenty to discover in Prague. Very clean room, nice size and quiet with a very good selection for breakfast. Also a nice quiet bar to relax in before going out for dinner, or for a night cap. There are many hotels in Prague, but this one is well worth staying at and if we were to return we would stay here again.
Ordered a room with a king bed but got 2 single beds. My pregnant wife was not happy about this. Was told that I could change rooms the next day. When I asked about it the next day they said the hotel was fully booked and that I could not change rooms. Poor service at the hotel.
