How to Get There
We were staying as our friends held their wedding there.
This is a hotel with amazing views and it is a huge property.
The staff here are are truly exceptional. Without question staff here are amazing warm, attentive and knowledgeable. They are truly this hotel's best asset.
The breakfast buffet selection is very good and meals at the restaurant excellent.
The property however needs an upgrade. The facilities and decor was very dated. If there was a renovation, this property would be the best in the area.
We did book a king room with courtyard but felt it was uninspiring. All it had was a table and chairs. Maybe it needs some plants to liven it up. On reflection, we would have just booked a standard king room.
My Husband and I enjoyed our recent short stay at the Fairmont Resort. All staff were wonderful in particular the concierge and check in staff. The young man who attended to our check in resolved queries we had with our on line booking making adjustments without any fuss. Our room was beautifully presented and comfortable.
Totally underwhelming. I spoke to Ahmed on what was the supposed local number to confirm our booking having not received a confirmation email and make bookings for our kids and the spa which the website says is essential. I was told by Ahmed that bookings can only be made when the room is allocated. I said that would inevitably mean you would miss out on a busy weekend and I reiterated my concern re no confirmation email and my request. He insisted it could only be done when the room was allocated. At that point I should have cancelled the booking. So we arrived early to have some chance of making bookings and at that point I was told that check in was unusually late for this hotel - 3pm. Unfortunately my welcome email with all these details went to the wrong email - a detail that should have become apparent when I called to query the lack of a confirm. The reception suggested we change the children and swim in the interim and when we arrived at the pool, it was closed. Part of the issue with the indoor pool is that no hotel key is required and it seems to attract day guests not solely hotel guests. Apparently it needed cleaning and you can probably guess why. We entered our room at 3pm resplendent with ripped upholstery. I take it that’s standard. Just good to know what you’re getting into with this hotel. It’s lack lustre but I take it they are very accustomed to these complaints because they generously offer coffee vouchers.
We had two nights here... unfortunately (for us) its a great family hotel so lots of noisy kids, but that’s not the hotels fault. Thankfully there was an adults only breakfast area in a separate room which was a nice thought. The food was ok in the restaurants but would have liked some veg with the meal! The rooms were large and clean enough. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Fairmont Blue Mountains. It is a beautiful property with a wonderful view of Jamison Valley. The hotel's location is just few minutes drive to the local shops and famous Katoomba Scenic World. They are also a lot of activities to do at the property such as horse back riding, swimming, playing tennis or basketball, and even watch a movie at their cinema. However, there was one event that made me slightly disappointed with the service. My husband and I placed our omelette order for breakfast but the lady chef at Jamison's Restaurant totally forgot about it even though she wasn't busy that time. We waited almost half an hour but our order never arrived. When we followed up, she told us that she lost the docket. She apologised and offered to make the omelettes for us but we politely refused as we already had to check-out in an hour. Overall, it was still a lovely stay.
