How to Get There
The resort is ok and quite environment for people to visit however it is a bit costly when it comes to dining so make sure you have enough fund/cash to dine there. Friendly service staff how when it comes to the deposit when checking in it takes time to come back to your account. I had to call them several time just transfer back the deposit I paid when checking in. I pad cash hoping to get it back as soon as I check out however it took them 7 days just to retury deposit. The policy of paying deposit is just a rip off coz you pay cash and they return to your a/C after 7 days instead of the following day meaning that their system is a bit slow
It was after 2 PM we were there for c/i but our room wasn't ready and when I ask when when room is going to be ready the answer was we don't know ! After that I asked approximately time they didt give me any time , that was unprofessional! And during check in haven't been informed about wifi. And during check in and check out we haven't been offered assistance with bags although I was 2 kids 1and 3 years old ! Apart that rest of our stay was good
Have stayed at the Resort a few times now and always receive a warm welcome from Michael at Concierge. He is attentative and very helpful. Outstanding start to the stay!! All my interactions with staff have been very positive. I have eaten in several of the dining options and always had excellent meals. The custom made omelette was definitely a winner!!
The property is in a very good setting and quite spreadout. There is ample parking space but if it a hot and busy day, it is quite a task to walk in the heat till the entry of the lobby. The staff is quite helpful but they were unable to manage a lot of people on the long weekend.
Overall we did not have very good experience of the stay. We were allotted a standard room instead of a premium room and then the aircon was not working in this premium room so had be shifted again to another room. I found the rooms a bit stuffy and the ventilation was not very great. The breakfast was ok and had limited options which were repeated on all the days. The omelettes from the egg counter were quite burnt. They have few options in entertainment like swimming pool, billiards room and auditorium which plays movies daily. Also there are few walks from there which are quite nice on a comfortable day.
We felt this place was more for families with kids as they have numerous entertainment facilities for the them.
I visit the Fairmont occasionally. It’s a beautiful hotel in a super location. Most of the staff really try hard. On this trip I was disappointed. With my background in hospitality, I notice things that probably aren’t noticed by most guests. And I believe that most millennial students of hospitality today will notice these too. Just like the review on the use of plastics comment a few months back (which kicked me off), I really think management needs to sharpen up on safety and supporting the environment. For example, the buffet fuel used is a highly toxic chemical. Its safety sheet says something like “don’t use while eating and drinking’ - a tough task when they are used in a buffet. And, why then is this poison left unattended in the foyer? Surely this is a safety issue. And as the photos show, one on top of another next to burnable objects - crazy. Often decorations are put up in this area – they attract children. And, like the plastic waste, how does the hotel dispose of these toxic chemicals? Surely Fairmont or Accor needs to do something about these safety risks and be green friendly, especially as they promote their environmental credentials. That’s my rant. Such a shame in such a beautiful place. Let’s be friendly to our natural assets.
