Luxury Vacation in the Nicest Place on Earth!
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Naia is amazing. You step out of your cottage right onto the palm-strewn beach, dotted with chaise lounges, hammocks, and the occasional coconut. The dining is amazing! (I wish I had a copy of their cookbook. Seriously, I do.) The spa? Getting my back worked over and a stylish new pedicure in a scenic tropical locale? Fabulous!

But you know what truly makes Naia stand out from other luxury resorts in other countries? (I say other countries, because I don't think any comes close to compare in Belize.) This has to be the nicest place on earth! Seriously, the people are absolutely amazing! I wish the rest of the world was this way. It just puts your time over the top of any place else you could choose to go in the world.

I want to add a special thank you to Faura and Thomas, who were always there to greet and help us at the front. They are both so amazingly helpful. They do what nearly everywhere else can only aspire to do. I also want to give a special thanks to Michelle, Jerry, & Anita in the grill and restaurant. Not only were they supremely helpful, but we sincerely enjoyed talking to them all immensely. They are truly incredibly special folks.

Naia is a place of luxury and comfort, but it is truly a place where you feel like you are among friends. It is genuine in a way that you just don't find elsewhere. I cannot recommend it more.

This hotel is so amazing! Service is excellent and amenities are perfect. Rooms are clean and new and there is so much to do on the property (spa, pool, restaurant, paddleboarding, snorkeling, kayaking, biking).

Placencia Luxurt

Like many people we broke our trip into beach and jungle. And decided to try this relatively new luxury resort.

We could not have been happier. The villas are amazing and include private pools and views of the ocean from the showers.

Each villa was an entire house with two rooms and kitchen. And the location makes for a great location to get to town for scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming with sharks and more.

Or just relaxing in the onsite spa.

Go in October!

We went in October, the off season. The place was half empty which made us feel like we had the place to ourselves. The staff was friendly and happy to help us at every turn. We got to know everyone and couldn't be happier with there generosity and service. The spa was fantastic, but best of all was our room. On the water, our own recliners at waters edge, and watched the most amazing full moon rise and gorgeous sunrises over the water daily from our bed. The rooms are fantastic, the food in Placencia was terrific and snorkeling with sharks and rays was a treat of a lifetime.

The Naia Resort and Spa is just lovely! My hubby and I visited for our 40th anniversary and it was the perfect destination for "oldly weds" and newly weds alike! So from the beginning:
The grounds are serene, tranquil and impeccably manicured. We were greeted at the guard hut by a huge orange male iguana nicknamed "Springy" who was surrounded by his harem of smaller, less flashy females. It just got better from there!
The hospitality is warm and helpful without being overbearing. Just the mention of a sunburn, and I quietly received aloe leaves from the spa garden, dripping with healing gel! This is just one example of the exceptional customer service we received. From the front desk to the restaurant to the spa, everyone was gracious and did their jobs so well.
The 1981 Restaurant serves delicious food and drink at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is sophisticated but not stuffy. Cheers to Cesar, both waiter and bartender, who gave us a Mayan history lesson! (and a taste of his favorite infused liquor at the bar)!
A visit to the spa begins on a jungle path. Follow the music over lilyponds and footbridges and treat yourself to one of the many services. The private pool for spa guests is a lovely setting for lunch or a snack, which they will bring from the restaurant. We indulged in the Himalayan salt stone massage in the couple's room and it was first rate.
We stayed in the studio bungalow and it was plenty of room for the two of us. We loved the outdoor shower and the soaking tub. We felt very comfortable from the standpoint of privacy due to the layout of the ground and the placement of the nearby bungalows. Plenty of hammocks and lounge chairs scattered on the beach under the coconut palms! We used the common pool and we had it to ourselves most of the time.
We found plenty to do on and off the property. The resort offers complimentary airport transportation and several scheduled shuttles to Placencia during the day (about 10 minute ride). Transportation to town or nearby destinations is available for a fee at other times for $10-$15 US. I thought that was a little pricy until I learned that gas is about $5.50 per gallon in Belize.
The Naia Resort and Spa definitely earned it's excellent rating! It is a beautiful spot from which to explore and enjoy all that Placencia, Belize has to offer.
