How to Get There
The staff at the resort are very polite, friendly and helpful. We had a tour scheduled before their water taxi started for the day and they made arrangements for us to make it to our tour on time. The resort was clean and the views are amazing and we will definitely be going back.
I first went to Costa Blu for a solo vacation in November of 2017 and fell in love with the place. I came back with my boyfriend in December of 2018 and was so happy to return there. It is a quite resort, with lovely rooms with a view of the sea. I personally like the slower pace of this resort and that it is a few miles from San Pedro. If you are looking for a romantic getaway or solitary time alone, I highly recommend Costa Blu. You can rent a golf cart to go in to town, or take the water taxi. The peace and quite of the beach, included access to paddle boards and kayaks, beautiful pool, and access to Tuff E Nuff tours on the dock makes this a perfect get away. The staff is very friendly and worked to accommodate my dietary restrictions (plant based and gluten free) and they partner with a spa to have massages in your room or on the beach - which I did both and loved! I will return to Costa Blu again. One of my favorite places on the planet. Rooms have a refrigerator and kitchenette, they provide local coffee, room service is available, and free wifi throughout the property. The rooms also have cable TV, a separate bedroom with bathroom and shower. All rooms face the beach, but ask for a room on either side of the resort so the main building isn't in the way of your view. Also, second floor rooms have a better view. All rooms have a porch to sit outside and look at the sea.
San Pedro, Belize was one of the most laid back and beautiful trips that I've ever taken. The clean water, the clear sky and the humble people made my vacation a Great , quick and cheap getaway from hustle and crowds in Brooklyn and NYC.
The first day I went fishing with A.J. who was an expert fisherman in Belize. He said he fishes 8 days a week and made catching a Baracoda easy. He filet my fish and then the resort prepared them for dinner. Absolutely delicious!
The next day I took a small plane from San Pedro back to Belize City to take a tour of the Great Mayan Temples. I studied their history when I was in high school and could not believe that I was actually climbing this historic site. I felt like I went back in time and was blessed to witness these ancient ruins.
The same day I went to the Belize Zoo. Now I've been to the Bronx Zoo and even the San Diego Zoo. But this was a bit different. Being separated by only a fence from Tigers, Panthers and Tacans was exhilarating! To witness these majestic animals made feel humbled by the Lord's creatures. Highly recommend you visit the Belize Zoo.
The 4th day was spent at the Secret Beach. Some of the clearest water that I've ever seen. They said that you can walk a mile out in the water and it only comes up to your waist. I decided to take their word for it and not try that. Wanted to make sure I got back home safe and sound, lol. But it did look peaceful and tempting.
Now I recommend using Cheap Caribbean to book your trip to Belize and going to the Resort Costa Blu. Costa Blu Resort is associated with 5 other resorts on San Pedro in which you will have access to.
I booked my flight 3 months in advance for only $600 round trip. For only $7 American dollars I was able to get 2 dinners and 7 drinks. Everyone on San Pedro, Belize uses golf carts to get around the island. You can always negotiate your price to rent a golf Cart for the week.
Well I hope thus was helpful and motivated your explore this absolutely gorgeous paradise called Belize😊
Resort is clean, nice and safe. It is far from town. The hotel restaurant is way over priced for average to below average food and the restaurant service is hit or miss.
To go out for dinner, it is a golf cart ride on 2 miles of unpaved road with lots of pot holes. There are 2 restaurants that will pick you up by water taxi. Both choices have way better food and are more reasonably priced. However, you have to ask the front desk about your options. We tried a taxi ride one nite and I felt like the golf cart was better.
Quite romantic location. In the evening it felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves. The hot tub has a swim up bar and tv. That was the best thing ever. We spent every evening at the bar in the hot tub. Very nice private property. Great rooms.
If you want to relax, this is your place.
It’s a long bumpy ride to town so if you want to explore, I wouldn’t recommend stay at this beautiful lost resort.
