How to Get There
this resort was beautiful, room was great, staff was excellent! we were there during the off season, so not many people there, but we liked that!! We had a private dinner one night that was amazing! Since it was our first time to Belize we did a lot of sight seeing, I would definitely spend more time by the pool next time :)
This is a nice resort with some really wonderful staff members.
We stayed at Costa Blu for two weeks. The rooms are fairly generous in size but don't have a few things that would make a stay a little more pleasant. We found the lack of drying lines or racks a little frustrating since we had a lot of wet gear from swimming/snorkeling and diving. We also would have liked a suitcase stand or something to put the suitcase on instead of leaving it on the floor. The bathroom is a little small with almost no countertop space, so make sure you bring something to hang your personal items. There is a safe in the closet for locking up valuables. The bed is surprisingly comfortable and we were very appreciative of that after our long flights to get there.
We enjoyed the restaurant but noted that it was a bit expensive given that you are stuck there unless you are willing to take a golf cart or taxi into town. Since this place is quite a way up the small dirt road on Ambergris Caye, it's a bit of a haul to get places. If you are thinking of going into San Pedro for the day, take a water taxi. You can get passed at the front desk and a reduced rate and it's more enjoyable than the bumpy ride in a golf cart.
All in all, Costa Blu is a nice resort. If you look close you can see that there are some small repairs needed around the buildings and grounds but that didn't prevent us from having a nice time. We were really impressed with the hospitality.
Service was great. Food was stupendous. I had the house pizza and couldn’t have asked for a better pizza. My husbands cheeseburger and fries were also wonderful. Our waitress was so polite and attentive.
