How to Get There
The location is great, within the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, between the King and Queen's Gallery where Rue des Bouchers crosses. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel. Within the galleries there’s Neuhaus and Pierre Marcolini for chocolates, Madison Dandoy for waffles, Le Marmiton for moules et frites. Also only about an 8min walk from train station so it was a good base because we took day trips to Ghent, Brugge and Antwerp during our stay in Brussels.
The bedroom of the accessible room is just a normal 1 bedroom with queen sized bed. The accessible bathroom is spacious but impractical. Because there is nothing separating the shower from the rest of the bathroom, the entire floor gets wet. There should at least be a small separator that even wheel chairs can go over or the show area more sloped downward so that water leads to the drain. So wet floor became even more of a safety hazard.
Breakfast was great - waffles, croissants, pastries, eggs, prosciutto, ham, espresso based drinks, juice, smoked salmon, cheeses, fruits.
Housekeeping was not the best - cups not replaced, tea/coffee and bathroom essentials not replenished, one day room not even made at all. The front desk folks are great though as they gave replenishments when I asked for some.
We loved this place, looked like a book shop from the street. Very comfy bed and so clean. The breakfast was just great and nice to have our own quiet and space and take our time over breakfast.
Probably would ask for aircon room if staying in summer, might be bit hot!
This was a surprise trip, arranged by my husband and he picked a superb hotel. The entrance is discreet and unnassuming, yet the hotel delivers on every level. We had the split level apartment-like room, 38 and it was a sheer delight ,as the walkway makes you feel you are in an oasis of calm.Having a bathroom, separate toilet and a space for reading just added to the uniqueness of this place.I'm six foot and found the beam no problem, just ducked when going to make coffee. What makes this hotel are the staff. All are young, engaging and obviously take pride in their hotel. The breakfast area is leafy and elegant and the choices plentiful. The waffle machine was a real talking point among the other guests.I would highly recommend dinner there, innovative and totally delicious food from an outstanding chef.A few steps away are the famous Galleries and all the major attractions are easily walkable.I cant wait to return to this gem of a hotel.
