What We Love

  • Crystal-clear Caribbean water with great snorkeling right off the beach and a private dock with a fleet of dive boats
  • Full kitchens in all rooms
  • Advanced sewage treatment and wastewater recycling, solar-heated water and environmentally friendly detergents
  • The thatch-roofed palapa bar on the beach and the swim-up pool bar

What To Know

  • There is a $10 resort fee per night
  • Set on West Bay Beach (20 minutes from the airport or ferry dock) at the southwestern corner of Roatán
  • You’ll need to take a taxi to get elsewhere on the island, though rented cars and scooters — and water taxis — are great alternatives
  • When cruise ships are in port (several times a week) West Bay becomes overcrowded with tour groups
  • All food is served at the beachside bar and grill until the main restaurant opens
  • There will be construction at the back of the hotel until late 2012
  • WiFi can be spotty in some rooms or when there’s a heavy rain (it’s an islandwide issue)

  •  Bar
  •  Casino
  •  Free WiFi
  •  Gym
  •  Handicap-accessible
  •  Parking On Site

The Review

Looking for something more than just a dive vacation? Infinity Bay is the place for you. Sure, it has everything a scuba-lover could want — prime real estate on aquarium-like West Bay Beach and easily the top stretch of sand on the island of Roatán — but it also has spa services, a private dock and sophisticated eco-friendly technology.

{“type”:”img-inline”,”src”:”/static/images/product/properties/2899/prop-24989-1337788548-full.jpg”,”width”:”275″,”caption”:”This is easily the top stretch of sand on the entire island — and a scuba diver’s paradise.”}The tropical-chic studios and villas face each other across the 300-foot infinity pool. With a few exceptions, the rooms have only partial ocean views, though every single one faces the pool from a private balcony or terrace. The smallest rooms sprawl out over 831 square feet, so size will hardly be an issue here. The laid-back decor is more or less universal throughout: cushioned rattan living room furniture, handcrafted native Honduran mahogany cabinets, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchens.

A reverse osmosis purification system, one of only a handful in the Caribbean, ensures pure water from every tap and faucet. And the palm trees and native Honduran plants are watered with a sophisticated 63-tank wastewater recycling system.

Construction at the back of the resort wraps up in late 2012 with the opening of a full-service spa, a health club and a new restaurant. The current restaurant, a beachside bar and grill, might not be the most sophisticated spot on the island, but the laid-back island vibe, complete with strong umbrella drinks and beach BBQs, is ideal for this kind of vacation. And divers will love the private dock, which makes for quick and easy trips to dive sites.

Beautiful resort!

We booked this hotel as an all inclusive with Sunwing vacations. The buffet was excellent. Everything was fresh and carefully prepared. The chefs were friendly and attentive. The service was always friendly and engaging. The beach grill was very good food with fantastic service. They went out of their way to accommodate any special requests. The room was probably the nicest room we've ever had and we've stayed at 5 star resorts all over the Caribbean.
The beach was very nice and even the security guards were friendly. By the end of the week we were on a first name basis. The highlight though was snorkelling right off the beach. The water was warm and calm and we saw tons of fish and lobster and stingrays. I'm actually a little reluctant to write this review because we'd like to keep this lovely resort to ourselves!!

Another amazing stay!

The staff is amazing! Shout outs to Jaunito, Nacho and Belkis (Aka our Queen Bee) for fantastic service in the beach bar area! Juan the beach security and the front desk staff for helping us with our room!! They made our group feel welcome everyday and greeting everyone with smiles. These staffers work 12 hour days and love their jobs. Remember this is a 3rd world country not the Ritz, yes the power goes out and water does not work for a few hours minor problems that are quickly fixed. We had 10 in our group and no one seemed to mind, you are in paradise! If you do come visit this beautiful island on a cruise day please be mindful and spend some money on the island and give back. You see the cruise people plop down in a chair leave garbage and not respect the ocean or reef it is sad sight to see.

After our visit in 2017, we knew that Infinity Bay was for us. Again, we rented a two bedroom/two bathroom unit on VRBO and the room itself was excellent as we remembered! There seemed to be a few more "glitches" with the actual resort this time: frequent power/water/Internet outages were frustrating at times, but the beautiful pool, fun Palapa Bar, white sand beach and wonderful staff even made these instances more tolerable. The Palapa Bar even brought in a big screen for Super Bowl Sunday (c/w fireworks) which was a real treat!

Beach Grill

We were staying at the Grand Roatan next door which doesn't have a spa and only has one restaurant. We wondered over and had drinks and some food at the beach grill on several occasions and always had great service from friendly staff. The food and drinks were good and the prices reasonable within the nature of the resort. We would actually consider returning here to to stay if we go back to Roatan as this place has an all inclusive option which we like.

Day pass from a cruise

Wow...this place was amazing. I pre arranged this excursion myself by emailing the resort. We opted for the 65. All inclusive package for the day. Everything was great to how easy and convenient it was getting off the ship and finding our transportation they had organized for us to the guides they provided for the day. The resort it self is beautiful, big pool and amazing beach. The food was great as well. We were a group of six and not one of us had any complaints. Top resort and amazing shore excursion.
