Great West Bay hotel

My wife and I just returned from Roatan and really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Roatan Hotel. We had room 108, a junior suite in the canopy. If you dont mind a pretty steep walk , it actually is one of the few not near the beach with a view of the water and sunsets. Loved the room, sitting out on our deck looking out on the view, and the bed was comfortable. I would suggest staying near our room as we were away from the construction going on. All the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating with any needs we had. We went during a very quiet time and often were the only ones in the pool, the beach, or the restaurant but as it's getting near high season, I know that will change. We enjoyed the two lunches we had there, and my wife said the steak tacos were her favorite meal during our stay. I really think once the amenities building is completed, this will take the hotel to the next level. Also some of the best snorkeling on the island is right off the hotel's beach Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Fantastic Friday Night entertainment!

On our last night in Roatan, we gathered for drinks and appetizers (or dinner) at this terrific beach side bar and restaurant. The incredible Summer Dawn entertained us for two hours !! Incredible range of songs and very entertaining personality — and amazing voice. So fun.

The Grand Roatan is an amazing place to stay. Specifically, the staff are warm and genuine. From the front reception to the restaurant on the beach, people are genuinely happy, warm, and professional. One person stands out as someone we will remain friends with.
Joel works in the restaurant and took care of us extremely well. He is kind, professional, motivated and just a good person. He comes across as a leader, very capable, and was ready to go the extra mile to ensure our time was fantastic.
I highly recommend this location on West Bay. Say hi to Joel when you go.
Try the Garifuna soup! That’s the pic with the lobster in it. Wow.
