Just back from this beautiful hotel, stayed in a luxury villa with private pool, OMG it’s was amazing the best place I ever stayed & ive stayed in a few 5star hotels,
We were a group of 4 woman celebrating a 50th birthday on a girls trip I can honestly say it was a trip if a lifetime, we laughed cried & laughed again,
The staff & the management couldn’t do enough for us, the food was delicious & so much choice,
I think what makes this place so special is the staff all are from the local village & they are so proud of their place of work & they just want to make it special for you,
From the moment we arrive & first saw the stunning views over the paddi fields & watched the sunset drinking cocktails from the restaurant it just got better & better,
Such an amazing place, I can’t wait to go back & do it all again,

Best Hotel Ive ever stayed in

We visited the Semaya Ubud in October 2017 for our Honeymoon and while I was expecting a lot, it surpassed my expectations massively. We stayed here for 4 nights and the Semaya Seminyak for 9 nights. The Semaya Ubud is the better of the two, the staff are much friendlier, attentive and accommodating. I couldnt recommend this hotel enough and I cant wait to come back one day. I would rate this hotel higher than 5 stars if I could.

We stayed in one of the Hill side villas next to the Spa and on arrival we were met with congratulations a cake and a bath filled with red roses to celebrate our honeymoon. In Ubud there are tons of good places to eat dinner, so we asked immediately about a reservation in town and within a few minutes we had a table booked, with the hotel taxing us there and back whenever we we ready. Our room was immaculate and big, with a huge jaccuzi bath and a large pool outside (much bigger than I was expecting). One of the concerns and worries I had about coming to Bali was about the Zika virus and I emailed the hotel in advance and reassured me that the hotel does all it can to prevent Zika and mosquitos. I was impressed how much they do, e.g. there is no standing water anywhere and even though your in the middle of the countryside me and my partner rarely got bitten (which when going anywhere else is inevitable).

Another plus to the hotel is the how attentive they are to book tours, taxi you in and out of town (at no cost) or providing drivers for you to see as much of the island is as much or little time as you have. This is brilliant as we often wanted to go into town for morning/lunch and then come back, without the worry of how to get in or get back safely.

Breakfast is very good, with an extensive list of different options to select from. When you go to breakfast you can call reception and a buggy will be sent to your room to be picked up and taken to the breakfast area by reception. The view from here across the rice terraces is amazing, you can stand there for ages just looking out without getting bored. The Breakfast was included in our stay and the staff were very attentive and accommodating to ensure they provided everything you wanted. You can order as much as you want off the menu and they dont bat an eyelid which is brilliant if you fancy trying the local indonesian breakfasts but still want something else to go with it. When you call for a buggy to take you to breakfast the staff ask you if its ok for them to come and clean your room while your out (they do this twice a day, normally when you go to dinner). They dont pester you to know when youll be out, they just go to the room when it suits you and its brilliant having the room cleaned so often.

We ate at the restaurant for dinner two nights out of the 4 and I must say the food here is very good. I wouldnt eat here everynight if I went back as Ubud has some brilliant places to eat, but this is up there with the best.

On our 3rd night we asked about the possibility of booking a 100 candle lit dinner or the candle lit dinner closer to the restaurant for our fourth and final night. We were told unfortunately that both were fully booked so we wouldnt be able too, but they could arrange for a candle lit dinner in the room. We still wanted to go to the restaurant so we walked down (about 10 steps from our room, no need to get a buggy, although we did one day) and the restaurant had had a cancellation on the candle lit dinner on the balcony. We were told as they had a cancellation that we were/could have it for no additional cost. This blew my mind, most places you go this would not happen, but at the Semaya they genuinely want you to have the best holiday possible.

Overall this place is brilliant and I wish we had stayed at the Semaya Ubud longer than the Semaya Seminyak. The Staff really make this place and the semaya Seminyak could really learn something off everybody here in Ubud.

Wonderful experience from start to finish

We travelled to Bali earlier this month for a three week trip and prior to leaving emailed Samaya to request a table in the swept away restaurant. We had a detailed and helpful reply within s few hours and also offer to use spa before dinner.

We decided that this might be a good idea as it was on the day we will have climbed Mount Batur and been up since 2am so thought a massage around 1pm would be great. Samaya is a little outside of ubud though so we would need to travel straight from our hotel on our return to Samaya for treatments and the there would be a gap of around three hours until dinner. We explained this in an email and Dewa the manager wrote back to say the we could use the spa facilities between treatment and dinner. She also went out of her way to make sure that our treatment durations were the same so that we could enjoy the facilities together.

On the day Dewa had actually arranged a private room and double bed for us for after our treatments as well as full use of spa facilities. After the most relaxing and gorgeous treatments and of course having trekked up mount Batur that morning I have to admit that I fell asleep in the room until I was woken for dinner. My partner used the spa and also had an extra complementary 30 min massage just because it had been his birthday recently!

Everything was so well organised and person to our needs and timings. The staff were lovely and gave amazing massages. The meal at swept away was incredible, both in terms of beautiful surroundings and also food was top notch (I am a bit of a foodie).

If you fancy a relaxing day at a beautiful spa set on the river Ayung it is a great way to escape the noise and bustle of ibid for a day and recouperate - highly recommended.

Thank you to Dewa and all staff at Samaya.

During our honeymoon in Bali, we stayed in two different villas ... My wife booked The Samaya while I booked a different one so I really wanted the one I chose to be better... but The Samaya was undeniably better.

It really boils down to service and how they can pick up on every details politely and without intrusion. Every employee there gave us a warm and welcoming feeling from the breakfast, cleanup (no random doorbells, they cater to your schedule), and the very convenient local shuttle.
