100 Candlelit Honeymoon Dinner
Reviewed 3 days ago

We recently stayed at the Samaya in Samaya in Seminyak which was hands down one of the best hotels we have stayed in so we knew we were in for a treat when we booked the 100 candlelight dinner in Ubud. I have mentioned this before in my review of the Samaya in Seminyak but one thing they really get right at the Samaya is the service they provide, which is world class and by far the best, most professional, most friendly, welcoming, warm, charming and attentive service we have ever experienced. The setting for this magical meal is something out of a fairy tale....secluded on the banks of the Ayung River and shrouded in privacy with the flicker of 100's of candles carefully placed on the lawn leading down to the table and on the banks of the river. The meal itself was spectacular and without wanting to give too much away, consisted of a seven or eight course menu of carefully selected and high quality ingredients and coincidentally all our favourite foods! Just when we thought we had finished and could not possibly eat anything else, the team brought us out a lovely honeymoon cake. We could not eat this there as we may have literally exploded but happily ate this for breakfast the next morning. We would like to thank the team here for a truly memorable meal and one that will be very hard to beat!

Honeymoon - part 2
Reviewed 1 week ago

What a welcome! We were greeted by the friendly staff with a lei and a bunch of flowers as a honeymoon present. We were then shown the amazing view from the restaurant next to the reception. We were then escorted by golf buggy around the grounds to be shown the restaurant by the river and the spa where we received a welcome foot massage. We were then taken to our villa and received an explanation of the facilities and a drink.
Everything we encountered at the hotel was excellent - the food, the spa, the complimentary afternoon tea, the cookery class, the yoga class and the village trek. They also provide a free shuttle to Ubud village which is about 10 mins away.
Amazing customer service and I would recommend the hotel to anyone. We hope to return again

An amazing start to our Bali stay

My boyfriend and I stayed here at the beginning of September. Absolutely loved it. The perfect place to spend a couple of days in Ubud. Great breakfast, rooms and views.
We used the spa for a couples massage and really enjoyed it.
We also used the shuttle driver to go for a great meal at bridges (definitely recommend) and we used a samaya driver for a half a day trip around the rice fields, waterfalls and coffee plantations. This was one of our best days throughout our stay In Bali, our driver was so informative and friendly, we had a really fab day with him!
The most special part of this place, is how friendly and welcoming everyone is, everyone greets you with a smile and makes you feel special. Everything works like clock work and everyone works so hard to make you feel like a part of it.
Such a memorable stay for us and would recommend to all friends and family!

Unforgettable stay at the Samaya
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed here in September for a week, having stayed in Singapore for three nights beforehand.
I don’t usually write reviews but felt compelled to here.
The Samaya Ubud is probably the best, most peaceful place we have ever visited. From arrival where we were greeted with a necklace made from flowers and a cold drink, everything was perfect. The staff couldn’t do enough. We felt like royalty and nothing was too much trouble. I am vegetarian and even had my own menu to choose from. Breakfast is served until 2pm, either in your villa or at the Scene restaurant, which means you can have a long lie in and truly relax! We really enjoyed the personalised newspaper and we noticed that when you have breakfast at the restaurant, your room is cleaned for you. There is also a turn down service at night. We did the complementary yoga classes next to the Ayung river which is something I’ll never forget. We went to the spa twice and had the Balinese energising ritual - incredible. It was my other half’s 30th birthday when we were there and the staff at the Samaya even made him a cake and presented him with it whilst we were at the spa.
We used the complimentary taxi in to Ubud most nights and had dinner at Swept Away one evening which was just fantastic. Afternoon tea is served every day and we found that we didn’t need to have lunch as this was just enough.
I am so grateful to have stayed here and met such lovely, kind, genuine people. Book it, you won’t regret it. Thank you Samaya for a fantastic stay.

perfect for honeymoon

Samaya has been the most romantic place we have been during the honeymoon.
The staff welcomed us with a drink, a lei and a bouquet of red roses for me. The chaperon drived us to the villa and prepared a cocktail, in the room there were a lovely honeymoon cake, fresh fruits and biscuits. The bathtube was full of red roses petal and in the center the withe petas created the shape of an heart. Every day the bathtub was full of petas.

The quality of the food is very high, we booked the 100 candles dinner. An exclusive dinner on the river. The chef prepered for us an extra plate of fried sage, we meet him in the garden and we shared our food recipes and he was fashinated about that one.
After the dinner we went to our villa and there were a nice surprice for us: in the bathroom there were candles, chocolate strawberries and prosecco.

They really care that every details is perfect and all the member of the staff remembered our names.
Having breakfast on the rice terrace view is stunning.

We traveled 3 weeks for the honeymoon and Samaya remains the most beautiful and romantic place.
Hopefully we will go back for an anniversary =)
