Peace and tranquility is easy to find in Bali’s spiritual heartland, but there’s something rarified about this particular retreat. Combining pared-back minimalism with distinctive Balinese character, Senetan Villas & Spa Resort is the perfect modern escape.
No need to pack light for a stay at this all-villa property; even the smallest villa category weighs in at an impressive 230 square metres, with a private pool and sun deck. With boxish, fresh-white walls, well-selected furnishings and kimonos to saunter about the space in, they’re designed with a discerning modern traveller in mind.
Of course, no hotel on the island would be complete without a very good spa. Break up your sleep-and-swim routine with treatments using organic indigenous ingredients, or book or a one-to-one yoga session with an instructor. Add to that the rustic restaurant serving homegrown garden veggies, and it’s a recipe for a thoroughly revitalising getaway.
How to Get There
Loved the place the staff are amazing loved their hospitality.
One of the best experience the rooms, the pool the healthy smoothies and the massages 💆🏻. Highly recommended for couples , friends and families ❤️
We were a group of 11 girls on adventure trips in Bali. The resort was more than what the description & pictures shows. We had a great 5 nights. Ms. Dewi took good care of us with great hospitality. The stuff were very helpful & polite. The rooms were big with private pools facing the mountain. The yoga instructor was super professional & inspiring. The massage was sooo amazing especially after coming back from our trips. Some days we had to leave early, they prepared lunch boxes with the breakfast. We would love to come back again. Most of our activities were near by the resort. Very good location.
One of the best places to stay in Bali. Close to Ubud and to other places you need to visit if tou come to Bali. Services are impeccable and the stuff very kind. Food is great and the villas are amazing. Quite and relaxing if you want to connect with yourself. Very clean and great view over the jungle.
A must go :)
Great location in the middle of the jungle! Surrounded by jungle, small villages and their agriculture. 25min to Ubud, hotel offers 3x daily drop-off & pickup to&from Ubud by request, if you need more action or want to go out for dinner.
When we got out of the car by arrival, a peaceful and warm-hearted atmosphere surrounded us. Facilities that match the natural environment, the fresh air bath surrounded by great plants, flowers and trees. Villa was great, a lot of space outside with private pool for your privacy.
Spa treatments are also high recommended: professional staff with a lot of power in their hands.
Best thing for us was, that we had completely our privacy. You can order breakfast to your villa as well as all other meals from the restaurant. So you can start your day in the pool while the breakfast is served- which is absolutely great!! Food selection was very good, a great variety of local and Indonesian well tasted food.
Also worth mentioning is the fact that the housekeeping always scheduled the cleaning of the villa when we were outside or in the spa, they never disturbed us, when we were in the villa.
To sum up- great place to recover, peaceful privacy, tasty food, great value for money and very heartily nice staff! Highly recommended!!
Wow, what an amazing little place! Its total luxury on a reasonable budget.
We stayed for my partner's 40th birthday and we couldn't have asked for a better start to our Bali trip!
This place is a little gem in the rainforest north of Ubud. We felt like royalty staying here. Its so calm and beautiful. Oh and it smells amazing!
The room is gorgeous, with windows on three sides, and a hidden door to the open air bathroom on the other. The bed is huge and comfortable. The private pool is gorgeous, surrounded by tropical plants. It was a bit chilly for me, but my partner enjoyed swimming in it. There is a little decorative pool at the entrance to the villa which is beautiful. There was an issue with ours which meant the filter was quite noisy, although the staff did try and fix it.
The outdoor bathroom is stunning (and partially covered so you won't get wet if its raining). They provide toiletries, although some bath oils or petals or something for the bath would have been nice.
The restaurant served lovely food. I'd say the only negative is that there isn't really anything to see from the restaurant, its not the prettiest location, but as I said the food is good! A lovely touch was the complementary afternoon tea each day, brilliant!
The staff were amazing, all of them! So polite, friendly and helpful.
It is in a remote location but set in a small village which is well worth a wander or cycle around. We went out for a walk a few times and were pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous surroundings, buildings and local temples. Everyone you see is so nice, saying hello when you pass too, we felt very welcome.
We can't thank the Senetan team enough for a wonderful introduction to Bali!!
