Overview

A contemporary all-villa retreat in Bali’s tropical heartland, including breakfast, a 60-minute massage, village tour, plus daily afternoon tea and exotic fruits

The Lowdown

Peace and tranquility is easy to find in Bali’s spiritual heartland, but there’s something rarified about this particular retreat. Combining pared-back minimalism with distinctive Balinese character, Senetan Villas & Spa Resort is the perfect modern escape.
No need to pack light for a stay at this all-villa property; even the smallest villa category weighs in at an impressive 230 square metres, with a private pool and sun deck. With boxish, fresh-white walls, well-selected furnishings and kimonos to saunter about the space in, they’re designed with a discerning modern traveller in mind.
Of course, no hotel on the island would be complete without a very good spa. Break up your sleep-and-swim routine with treatments using organic indigenous ingredients, or book or a one-to-one yoga session with an instructor. Add to that the rustic restaurant serving homegrown garden veggies, and it’s a recipe for a thoroughly revitalising getaway.

Almost one year ago I went to this magical place as a gift from the universe! I went back and everything reminded me why This place is magical, the people treat you with such care and love that you feel as if you were with your family!

The food and the rooms are extremely gorgeous everything it’s clean and well prepared and the surrounding it’s magical as you are inside the jungle where you get to listen to nature and to enjoy the clear sky they also provided transport to go to Central ubud which is great don’t hesitate in spending your days when in Bali in this gorgeous place

We were in Senetan Villa for 4 days and never wantend to leave. The privacy, the luxurieus villa, the formidable Disneys at the restaurant: all perfect. we got Some maintainbikes and took trips through the countryside and risefields.

The people are so sweet. Will definitively come back again.
Thanks to all the lovely men and women who took care of us.

Delightful but far far away

Hi travelers.
Ok so thanks again to Scoopon we purchased the one bedroom villa deal ($849) came with a few things, massage, dinner or lunch free afternoon tea the usual.
I had communicated with the office there letting them know it was my husband's 50th and I wanted to surprise him with a dinner, they couldn't have been more attentive.
We arrived ( it's about 2 hours from the airport and do supply pick-up for 400,000) to a lovely welcome drink, flower footbath , birthday cake and happy birthday message written on the floor in flowers.
The Villa is beautiful. We had villa D.
The bathroom is outside and you shower in amongst the tropical plants. They don't supply toiletries as such only their refillable containers so BYO.
The bed is slightly hard nothing to dramatic, TV with limited channels, an outside kitchenette with microwave and small fridge inside.
The breakfast is limited too. It's A la carte and if you like you can choose add ons for an extra cost.
A Shuttle bus is provided to take you into Ubud central which is a 30 min drive. We had a motorbike which took the same time. (it’s 18kms).
The staff are as usual delightful and very helpful ( a few miss communications at times) and room service is available do try the Mee goreng, FANTASTIC! Not a big place at all , I personally feel its suited to couples, writers, people whom want to sit buy a pool and do nothing all day. I would not recommend it to families.
It's very well hidden in amongst the village there and nowhere close to pop out if you want to grab a bite to eat or a drink.
Would I stay there again? Probably not only because of the distance. If you want nightlife and shopping stick to Ubud town. This place is delightful don't get me wrong, it’s just far far, away.
Happy travels
Namaste

We co-booked Senetan online with our travelling friends from Australia. It was combined with a Scoopon deal. The first comment I’d make straight away is this is not a child friendly resort - we had two boys in our party (aged 6&7) and whilst the accomodation and service is superb there is not a lot for kids to do.

We stayed in an adjoining double double villa with private pool and kitchen area. Situated a good half hour by car from Ubud means that travel to and from Ubud for shopping, sights, meals etc is a planning excercise.

We loved our jungle stay with frogs and gheckos very prevalent. The staff are so friendly and nothing’s a problem....restaurant onsite caters for all sorts but does lack a little invention. The Nasi Goreng a hilight.
