How to Get There
If you are staying in Ubud, stay here now. This space, staff, food, everything was absolutely above and beyond. Be prepared for monkeys at tea time, but fairly entertaining. May not even need to go to monkey forest after the ones at the hotel :).
The atmosphere were so good... The staffs were very friendly and polite..
The view was superb. Breakfast were healthy and delicious..
Love the herbal tea at the evening
And love the starlight movie theather at night.. you could watched the movie in big screen under the stars
Had a repeat visit at the Alila Ubud last week and it was once again excellent.
I can recommend either the deluxe rooms or the valley view villas. The regular superior rooms in the upper floors might have better views though and the deluxe rooms are on the lower floor with a private patio and outdoor bath/shower.
The spa services are very reasonably priced and excellent in quality. Breakfast is included in the rate and really delicious, freshly prepared.
Not much I can say about the Alila which hasn’t already been said, the perfect place for a relaxed quiet holiday with a little Monkey business to keep you on your toes. The staff are so attentive and can’t do enough for you,the food really high quality and reasonably priced, the location stunning and the infinity pool out of this world,I could go on but the only way anybody could get a true feel for this place is by visiting themselves.
I totally get why some people love this place and some are disappointed. We mostly enjoyed it. It's lush and green and very secluded, we particularly enjoyed the antics of the monkeys but they're not for everyone. Our room was spacious, clean and reasonably comfortable. The drawbacks: poor lighting, not good for middle aged women to apply make up. The electrics, loose plug sockets that we had to prop up so our phones would charge. Rainfall over head shower, I HATE them. Finally the air con. It's either baltic cold or off. There's no way to adjust it yourself so I had to keep mithering for it to be switched on and off. Oh and the bedside phone kept crackling so I kept unplugging it.
The staff were just lovely, all of them. The breakfasts were delicious. Yes the portions are small but you can request as much as you want, they were perfect and the coffee is excellent. We were there 3 nights and that was fine. Be aware there are a lot of steps everywhere so it's no good if you have a disability.
The spa was quite good but we both felt bruised the day after so maybe ask for less pressure if you're sensitive.
