Amazing Experience
Reviewed 1 week ago

Wow wow wow. My husband and I stayed at the The Menjangan resort for 3 nights during our Bali honeymoon in April 2019 and loved it. This was a unique experience that felt adventurous and luxurious at the same time! First, the location is amazing. Far from “mainstream” Bali, arriving at the Menjangan in West Bali National Park felt so remote! We stayed in a suite at the Monsoon Lodge and loved it. Very comfortable bed, beautiful decor, amazing pool with chaise lounge chairs, and water cooler to fill our water bottles (anyone traveling in Indonesia knows how amazing this is!) From the Monsoon Lodge, you take a open air shuttle to the beach/restaurant and the Bali Tower. The beach was so peaceful and beautiful. The restaurant had delicious drinks and very good food!! It was a mix of Indonesian (Nasi Goreng, Curry & Rice) & western (surf & turf, pasta). We had drinks one evening at the Bali Tower to watch the sunset and it was incredibly romantic- very peaceful and quiet. During our stay, we saw so much wild life! We saw plenty of deer (Menjangan), birds, and wild monkeys (very different from those in the Monkey Forest in Ubud). We went snorkeling at Menjangan Island one day and had an amazing time- the guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the coral and the fish, the equipment was great, and the views were amazing. We also went sunset horseback riding one evening at the resort and had a really amazing experience. Finally, the staff at this resort is excellent. Everyone is so helpful, friendly, and accomodating! They really made us feel welcomed and helped us have a special trip. Five stars for this unique resort!!!

Building works in paradise
Reviewed 1 week ago

Our rating would be five stars were it not for the fact that there are building works going on immediately behind our beach villa all day every day, starting about 8.30 am: banging, electric saws etc maximum 10 yards away from the otherwise entirely peaceful beach. Makes it impossible to enjoy what would otherwise be paradise ....and we have received no apology or compensation for this inconvenience in any form from the hotel. Otherwise staff are very helpful and location is really natural. Food and drink are expensive but it is a tourist destination. A trip to Menjangan Island is expensive at more than 900,000 IDR but seems the thing to do (not least to escape the banging!).

The very best of Bali

Great location, great resort, great ambience...
Love the environment there, stay in the middle of jungle but still have the luxury feeling...
What we love the most is the Jetty...sitting there for hours just seeing the wall of fish in the clear water with amazing view and breezing air...
All the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Luxury in a national park
Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Incredible resort hidden in the national park. Our stay exceeded our expectations. The monsoon rooms were much larger than the pictures and very elegant. Beds are super comfortable. The evening turn-down services were always a nice touch.
Getting around in the resort with the safari vans was very fun, a good chance to spot wildlife. During our stay, we’ve seen monkeys, deer (including a stag on our first and last day), big lizards, and bats.
We enjoyed many of the activities - birdwatching, mountain biking, and the snorkel trip to Menjangan, that’s a must do.
The oceanfront restaurant offers another opportunity to spot wildlife in the sea. One evening, we spotted an octopus and an eel swimming through the mangrove shallows. It was truly a captivating sight.
The Bali tower is a great place to watch the sunset. Overall, the resort setting is absolutely amazing. It’s a shame most people visiting Bali don’t venture up here. This property is a real gem.

Hidden Paradise

Spending 2 Nights in this resort was a perfect experience. The resort is located in the middle of National Park with many friendly deers strolling around, many kind of beautiful birds, and for sure rain-forest plantation. The beach villa is amazing. Just right on the front of the beach and there is not so many units of villas that making this private beach is completely yours. The one that impress for this overall experience is the food at Pantai Restaurants, amazingly delicious! Really recommend for a getaway from hustle of South Bali.
