Villa Chocolat offers two-, five- and six-bedroom villas, all designed by French architect Stephan Remini. Set on spacious grounds, with manicured lawns dotted with tropical flowers, the villas all have private pools, fish ponds and generous patios. The enormous living areas are decked out in cool grays and chocolate-browns, blending classic modernist design with traditional Balinese elements, such as wooden statues and oversize ceramic vases. The large bedrooms are kitted out with creamy marble floors and wooden kingsize beds. The alfresco bathrooms are doused in sunlight, with stand-alone baths and walk-in rain showers. A Balinese or American-style breakfast is served every morning in the modern kitchen, and there are upscale dining and partying options aplenty at a host of local restaurants, bars and beach clubs.
In the Area
Seminyak is where the beautiful people come to party. Get to SOS Supper Club early to raise a glass to the jaw-dropping Balinese sunset. This hip rooftop restaurant and bar offers guests unobstructed views of Seminyak Beach, as well as a prodigious cocktail menu. Next, hop in a cab and go to the nearby Rock Bar, a beautiful cliffside drinking hole designed by Japanese architect Yasuhiro Koichi. The following day, work off last night’s excesses at the Rip Curl School of Surf with a full- or half-day lesson. Follow that up with a mandi lulur at Bodyworks; this traditional Balinese massage is finished off with an exfoliating scrub made from turmeric, sandalwood, cinnamon and ground rice.
How to Get There
I am writing this review from the airport having just left villas 6 and 2 where my family from australia and England met up and spent the last 4 nights. Spotless accommodation, all facilities but by far, Kumara and his team could not have done more for us. With ages in our group fro 23 to 86, kumaras team organised McDonald's, transport, ice, laundry and even a search party for one of our group who got lost. The villas are down a lane from ultimos, ginger moon and many of the main shops, bars and massage places. We will return and can not find one negative comment to make in this review. 11 out of 10 score for me
Fantastic service from Kumara and his team, we stayed in the 5 bedroom villa for 9 nights, 2 pools, second pool area made a great spot for those wanting just to read by the pool or have a massage, staff couldn't do enough for us, they were great at handling bookings, or grabbing us takeaway from many nearby eateries, took my mother in law with us (69) and she loved it. Villa was clean and well attended to by friendly staff
Great escape with friends - great location and accommodation was super.
Breakfast provided and cooked for us either traditional Indonesian or cooked western.
Swimming pool a great size.
We all had our own room, but would work well for couples (or large family group)- additional rooms available to make for more accommodation if needed.
We spent two weeks at Villa Chocolat in a 2 bedroom villa with family. A fabulous location! A short walk to the main shopping and eating street of seminyak! The villa itself is amazing! Spacious, bright, comfortable, relaxing! The staff are amazing! So friendly and helpful!
From breakfast being cooked for you in your villa, to nightly turn down, the staff are just wonderful, making your stay feel like a home away from home!
Located only a short walk away from eat street, this fantastic 2bedroom villa suited our needs, with early morning walks through the magical maze of gangs to the beach to the late night strolls to inviting restaurant's and the dance floor at Laflavla nightspot.
