- Villas are extremely quiet and private
A quiet sanctuary away from the hustle of nearby Seminyak, Maharaja is an intimate collection of just 10 private pool villas. This luxury haven is ideally located within a quick, complimentary shuttle transfer away from some of southern Bali’s most fashionable haunts, and yet, within your walled garden, you’ll feel blissfully removed from the action.
Designed by accomplished architects, Maharaja Villas pays homage to Balinese traditional while incorporating a light and clean-lined, modern aesthetic. The on-site Zahra Spa does not disappoint, with its comprehensive menu of therapies and a focus on awakening natural ingredients like ginger, lemongrass, galangal and essential oils. Be sure to dine at Kayumanis – you’ll be treated to pleasant views of the local rice fields.
How to Get There
Great place to enjoy all the best from Bali. Very comfortable rooms, good breakfast, pool, massage.... what more do you want? Thanks to Yoga and Putu for making us feel so welcome and looked after...you like mojito? you like private pool? you like quiet? this is the place to stay!!!!
I’ve recently spent 5 nights at Maharaja Villas with a friend, staying in a one bedroom pool villa.
The villas are a little way out of Seminyak, but as long as you know to expect a taxi journey (around 30-50,000 rupiah depending on traffic) to the centre/beach then they’re in a great location.
The villa itself was beautiful, just as the photos suggest. There are, however, a few little things that could be added to improve it even further. Our villa had a kitchen with dining area and whilst a plug-in stove with huge cooking pan was provided, there were no utensils to use and no tea towel to dry anything up with. Tea and coffee was provided in the kitchen but no kettle or any means of making a cup of tea/coffee! Not a huge complaint from us as we likely wouldn’t have used the kitchen anyway, but it’s definitely a noting point for Maharaja to take away.
Again, a couple of additions to the bedroom and bathroom would turn this villa from almost perfect to perfect. There were a couple of rails in the bathroom for towels, but robes were provided to wear too, with nowhere to hang them up. Initially they were on hangers in the wardrobe, but with only 4 hangers available for 2 people to share, it limits the clothes you’re then able to hang up too.
We also found it would have been handy to have a full length mirror in the bedroom, and some brighter lighting, as it’s all “mood lighting” - looks lovely but isn’t so great for doing makeup, etc!
As other reviews have mentioned, the pool is reasonably deep (about 1.5m) all the way across and only has one step down from the side before you have to jump in. Possibly not ideal for smaller children or anyone who may have difficulty climbing out of a pool without steps.
Lastly, the breakfasts were extremely well presented but sadly lacked in taste (pancakes filled with banana, chocolate and...cheese. Anyone?!). We certainly had better food elsewhere in the area.
All in all, the villas are beautiful and the staff are very friendly. Just a couple of tiny additions will make them perfect!
This was a visit to just unwind and celebrate my better half's birthday - a surprise for her. Well, I was the one who was surprised(both of us actually) with the entire set up, hospitality, food and even the environment. From the day I booked the villa, there was a close follow up by the team from Maharaja Villa to accommodate and understand my needs and expectations. The driver (Putu) was there to receive us at the airport(very punctual). Upon arriving at the villa, everything was set up in accordance to the plan that i suggested and they even know not to communicate details in front of my better half (for the surprise). Food was just too good, decoration as well, the villa was maintained clean not to mention the turndown service provided, the humble, honest and cheerful staffs who never said NO to any of our request. Maharaja Villas in Seminyak is surely my top list of place to stay when I head back to Bali. Will surely suggest anyone to head there is you are planning a surprise, unwind, or even enjoy a break with your family.
Have just spent a week at this lovely property in a one bedroom villa with private pool. The management and staff are all A1. Meals are served in your villa or at the restaurant. All meals have been very nice. Mini bar prices reasonable too. A shuttle runs a couple of times a day to the Seminyak area or you can have a taxi pick up from the villa to Seminyak only costs around $3 Australian. Highly recommend this property. Tours can also be booked . The villas are beautifully decorated.
Beautiful romantic private villas with your own pool and great service. The staff at the hotel are fantastic. The complimantary After noon Tea was luxury and the Spa treatments super! Driver/ guide Putu took us on a 9 hour tour among temples, lakes and rice terraces and We enjoyed every minute.
