Excellent...again

Second visit here and did not disappoint. We very very rarely go back to the same place but here is special, from the first moment upon arrival til the leaving gong the team all make sure you have an excellent time here. Everywhere is very relaxing, smells wonderful and just peaceful. Massages superb as usual. Food also top notch. We did a yoga session this time which was really good, plus the sunset trip out on the canoe/catamaran thing which again was a fab hour or so with a stunning sunset. Cannot fault this place.

A perfect place to relax

The staff at the hotel were all so friendly and efficient and always a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was tailor-made for our special diets, the chef Mohammed went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect and his restaurant staff were exceptional.
Everyone around the site always had a smile and a happy greeting, the pool staff were always at hand to help and a special mention to Sariawan who went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. The therapy treatments administered by Ketut were in our experience (which is wide) world class. We'll be back

However long your stay - it won't be long enough !

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at this little known piece of paradise, situated on the North of the island of Bali.

But lets get the bad bit out of the way first. We booked via YTL website in Kuala Lumpur (and I would advise all thinking of coming here to do the same, as they give so much more little extras) arranged the dates, paid the full balance and told the KL office when we were arriving, including the flight number. A free transfer is also include when you book direct (this is so the hotel can pick you up at the airport on arrival and transfer you the 3 hours to the resort.

When we arrived at Denpasar airport there was no one to meet us. I emailed the KL office and also phoned the resort and spoke to very confused man who said our booking was for indeed 10 days but in 10 days time. Clearly a mix up, but I did sent the original booking reference with the confirmed dates on. Now mistakes happen and its how they are resolved and this confusing was sorted within 10 minutes, a local taxi driver turned up and took us to the hotel, once their the hotel was 100% sorry for the mix up and as a gesture of good will, we were given a lovely meal on the beach.

Mistakes often happen, its how they are dealt with and this was managed quickly and efficiently and for the rest of our time there was no other issues.

Now back to the main review lol.

If you are looking for nightly entertainment, busy bars, fast food outlets then this is not the place for you!

Here its spa treatments, fine food (different choices from the menu for the whole time we were there), pleasant masterclasses from local people on local practises (rangeing from making your own body scrubs to yoga, to sign writing on bamboo)

Basically its a do as much as you want. There are trips available, arranged by the hotel and usually with as I called them and the resort liked the term, "a man with a van", because all tours are personnel to you and come with a knowledgeable driver and a mini van. We went on 2 and found the driver, Suegan a pleasure to spent time with.

The accommodation comes in 3 forms: the basic rooms, suites and villas. We were lucky to have one of the 2 Villas, Baruna. It was clean, large and close to the sea. Housekeeping came in twice a day and looked after us as it we were a King and Queen, always smiling and always ready for a chat to see how are day had been.

The beach is not the white sands of the south of the island, but black sands and the transfer from the airport is a 3 hour affair over the mountains and through little villages on narrow roads. It in all fairness this resort shouldn't work at all, but it does and its thanks to the wonderful staff, the location, fine dining and excellent spa treatments that it was a 100% experience and one we will not forget in a hurry

Thank you Mr Falzi (GM) right down to the garden staff, gate house, room service, restaurant staff, front of house and spa for a special time 25 years after we originally came and discovered Bali

Sheer paradise - ideal for rejuvenation

Our fourth consecutive year at this splendid spa resort. So relaxing , and therapeutic, making us feel thoroughly rejuvenated and spoilt. A warm welcome and greeting from every member of staff. Right from the top managers to the gardeners. Food was delicious and there is a large menu variety. Accommodation lovely and the daily spa massage was so enjoyable. Roll on next year for our return to paradise.

Relaxation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Spa Village Resort. It’s a haven of tranquility, it was quiet and peaceful during our stay. We enjoyed the massages, the food, and the various activities, including yoga and jamu making. The staff were attentive and most helpful. We took the dawn boat trip from the hotel and saw dolphins. If you want to unwind and relax, this is the perfect place.
