How to Get There
The Leaf was the perfect escape and just the relaxing break we needed to rejuvenate! Dharma the head butler was so welcoming and always so helpful with a smile on his face! Ketut was so full of passion for service customers and at dinner he added an extra touch of teaching us things about the Balinese culture which we loved. Please look after him - he’s such a great asset to your business and I think he has a bright future.
The sun lounge by the private pool was the perfect place to relax under the umbrellas so you were protected from the sun but still getting the perfect amount to feel warm and get that vitamin D happiness! The buffet breakfast was a perfect way to start the day and getting High tea delivered on a floating tray in the pool was a special treat. The green juice was so refreshing and I love the way you had the recipes on show too so you could copy them but I forgot to get a copy of the detox juice recipe which I regret as it was so amazing!
We told reception that we wanted to go to the beach for seafood dinner and they booked us a honeymoon table which had front tow seats to the best beach sunset I’ve ever seen- so magical! We didn’t want to stay in the heart of things but did go to Kuta a couple of times- there was drop off by the resort and it was very cheap to get a taxi home. This is the perfect holiday if you want to get away from everything and relax and revive. Our teenage daughter learnt to surf while we relaxed on the sun lounges at the beach. Thank you everyone for making our stay amazing!
Had a great time staying at The Leaf for 7 nights, the staff were amazing including head butler Dharma and Ketut in the restaurants. Nights on the rooftop were quiet and private and the food was excellent. I really enjoyed not being right next to the beach because it was a bit quieter.
The villa was the nicest I have stayed in with the perfect layout and flow between zones. Before going didnt find any photo's online that did it justice.
Great work team and see you next time.
Our Villa was perfect and thoroughly private, which was great for our honeymoon. I had advised in an email when booking that this was a honeymoon, their reply was that they would do the honeymoon touches, a cake and decorations. So, first day - nothing, I advised so, 2nd day we had a beautifully decorated villa, hmm still no cake, so I thought maybe 3rd request might be lucky... but alas no! all was forgotten. Staff were excellent, the ones who could speak and understand english. We noticed only one night out of 7 our meal was over 1 hour to be served and you get numerous "sorry", however I was about to fall asleep on the table by the time the dinner came, but the food was perfect. We also realised that room service appeared to be getting preference over the table service and some people came in 15 mins after us but were served their food prior to us, minor things but when you are waiting for food and no nearby restaurants around it is a major. There were a couple of misunderstandings with the english language, staff not understanding and stating only 5 minutes more, and the item never came after 30 minutes so we left the breakfast dining area. The Breakfast is a vast array of smorgasbord however, the food is not hot and just luke warm and the heating trays are not even on. The only thing that was hot were the freshly made omelettes, where that lady is working tirelessly making them. It became apparent to us on the last morning, as we arrived at 7am, the food was cold and we believe it is leftover from the previous day, then we noticed a server dumping a bowl of hot food on top of the cold food. We ordered bacon on our last day and it was cold straight from the kitchen, so we knew food was not always served fresh. We had noticed the activities listing and it stating Balinese dancing on Monday 4-5 pm so our whole day was planned around that, only to ask at 3.45pm about the dancing and the girl in reception could not respond, "just wait a moment, okay" well 15 mins went past and I approached again to be told "it's not on, too expensive for the hotel" she did understand the concept of relaying information to a paying guest to be kept informed. The Manager came and explained the situation, he was very apologetic. I suggested in future if something is not on, remove it from the lift as that's the only form of information available so that people can plan their day correctly. The Hotel is very isolated so you need to organise your own activities. We understand that english is a 2nd language for the staff, however when you have reception staff it is important to have a good comunicator and problem solving person for the guests, We felt that the Manager there was very good however, he is not there all the time and he had to support a large number of staff who could not communicate on this level.
