Overview

Intimate art-filled Ubud estate with its own spa, amphitheater and bewitching views of holy Mount Agung

The Lowdown

An estate turned boutique hideaway, this 20-room hotel has the feel of a private residence, thanks to former owner and collector Hendra Hadiprana’s formidable art collection, much of which graces the walls. The tranquil setting, with views of Ubud’s famous jade-green rice paddies, is a far cry from the tourist bustle of Bali’s beach towns: the daily yoga classes and spa treatments like the signature Chedi Jade Massage or Indonesian cream bath, which combines a deep-conditioning hair treatment with scalp, shoulders and arm massage, add to the Zen vibe.

In the Area

See the fabled Balinese countryside through the eyes of an insider on a walk through the rice paddies and local villages with your butler, who can facilitate authentic experiences like meeting a shaman or eating street food. Visit the nearby Goa Gajah, a UNESCO-listed 9th century temple full of elephant carvings or hit the well-regarded Agung Rai Museum of Art, or ARMA, which houses a collection of significant Balinese artists along with a selection of works from expat talents. Treat yourself to a multi-course French-Balinese fusion adventure at Mozaic, one of Indonesia’s most acclaimed restaurants, or opt for breezy people-watching at Ary’s Warung, which dishes up Indonesian bites like coconut prawns along with European-style staples like gazpacho and goat’s cheese salad.

Unforgettable experience in every manner - private villa with pool and spa treatments, exquisite meals in a relaxed mid-Bali "farm" atmosphere, spectacular cultural and heritage items affording amazing photo opportunities. We now consider our "butler," Nik, a good friend!

Best Luxury Hotel

This was the second time we stayed here. Last year we enjoyed our stay so much that we had to come here again and it was the perfect choice. Again we experienced a truly fantastic stay at Chedi Club! From the check-in experience to our villa everything was amazing. The personal butler Nik with his friendly smile always made us feel very welcome. This is the place to relax and enjoy the views of the ricefields. Everything here is so calm and beautiful. What I enjoy most here is the balinese architecture and the story this place tells with all the elephant statues around the resort. Waking up to an amazing breakfast at the restaurant with the views of the ricefield is priceless. The personal service here is outstanding, especially the afternoon tea in the villa and evening cocktails are great. I can't wait to come back here again!

Mesmerizing experience, we couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Conveniently tucked away 10 minutes (scooter ride) from the city centre, the Chedi Club was everything we had hoped it would be. Location is beautiful, property is so well maintained, well thought out little touches all over the place; overall our experience was made wonderful by the staff. The day we arrived Wira took us to a local shop to be able to hire a Scooter - he stayed with us for 15 minutes and guided us through the papers and the price - he even offered to be our guarantor in case something happened. What a bloody legend! The Manager of the Chedi was fantastic, Nopi was a delight to see every morning at breakfast, maintenance/ gardening staff would always have a smile on their face as you walked past. Overall such a wonderful stay. We will be back. Thank you Chedi Club!

Awesome beyond all doubt

The reason I'm always back to this beautiful place is not only their breathtaking location but also valuable staff. Dip into their culture if you are interested with Balinese Hinduism, Ask someone by you wherever you are, your butler or restaurant staff. They must be glad to share their knowledge to you and introduce their temple. if you are lucky you can join to festival of temple nearby.

Amazing Resort

We visited Chedi at the very last minute of our trip, we were actually booked and stayed at the Four Seasons at Sayan however after staying one night and being extremely disappointed (for various reasons) we immediately checked out and contacted Chedi who welcomed us with open arms.

We were traveling for our honeymoon with our 12 month old baby, to set the scene.

After only giving Chedi a few hours notice of our arrival, they offered to pick us up and transfer us to the resort complimentary, and upon arrival we were made to feel comfortable and welcomed, our villa was ready for us including a cot, and they even went to the trouble of having a cake and platter of food for our honeymoon. I should have booked here all along!!!!!

The resort is simply beautiful, a very large property with stunning architecture, the villas are all spread out and very private, each with their own butler. The main pool is like something out of a movie, often quiet however with a kind staff member fussing over you to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need.

The main restaurant, what can I say... we ate here every meal and sat there for hours taking in the view and enjoying the DELICIOUS food. Afternoon tea is included which is high tea style, it can be enjoyed by the pool, in your villa or in the bird terrace.

What makes this resort though is the staff, the way they made us feel I will truly remember forever. Our son unfortunately fell very unwell with the dreaded flu on the last few days of our trip, the manager had a doctor to our villa within 20 minutes and then all throughout the day and the remainder of our trip the staff were constantly checking in on us to make sure our little boy was ok, we were truly so grateful and will be forever indebted to their kindness and caring nature, it turned a stressful situation for us around and we will be forever thankful.

Thank you to all of the staff at Chedi for rescuing our honeymoon, you truly are the most beautiful and kind people I have ever met in my life, thank you.
