Intimate art-filled Ubud estate with its own spa, amphitheater and bewitching views of holy Mount Agung

The Lowdown

An estate turned boutique hideaway, this 20-room hotel has the feel of a private residence, thanks to former owner and collector Hendra Hadiprana’s formidable art collection, much of which graces the walls. The tranquil setting, with views of Ubud’s famous jade-green rice paddies, is a far cry from the tourist bustle of Bali’s beach towns: the daily yoga classes and spa treatments like the signature Chedi Jade Massage or Indonesian cream bath, which combines a deep-conditioning hair treatment with scalp, shoulders and arm massage, add to the Zen vibe.

In the Area

See the fabled Balinese countryside through the eyes of an insider on a walk through the rice paddies and local villages with your butler, who can facilitate authentic experiences like meeting a shaman or eating street food. Visit the nearby Goa Gajah, a UNESCO-listed 9th century temple full of elephant carvings or hit the well-regarded Agung Rai Museum of Art, or ARMA, which houses a collection of significant Balinese artists along with a selection of works from expat talents. Treat yourself to a multi-course French-Balinese fusion adventure at Mozaic, one of Indonesia’s most acclaimed restaurants, or opt for breezy people-watching at Ary’s Warung, which dishes up Indonesian bites like coconut prawns along with European-style staples like gazpacho and goat’s cheese salad.

Staff are super friendly, and reply quickly
And the view of the rice paddy is just spectacular.
Despite it is near to the rice field, there are not much insects in the room, the room condition was great.

Beautiful relaxing escape

We have just enjoyed an amazing escape with friends at the Chedi Club. It was a return trip for us, as we enjoyed it so much last year.
Our villa was a private little haven with every amenity we could ask for including our own Butler Suen. He and our friends Butler Hendra were happy to attend to any thing we needed without being intrusive and were so helpful
We all indulged in beautiful spa treatments, our favourite being the hot stone massage.
The Kecak and fire dance followed by the The Royal Banquet was a must do. The executive chef Dean, ensures world class cuisine is always the feature of eating in the stunning pavilion over looking the rice fields.
And speaking of Dean, a highlight was meeting him as he took us through the tour of his sacred garden, where beautiful fresh organic produce is grown for the restaurant , and then onto his cooking class. Another must do.
The Chedi is only a short drive from Ubud and a driver is available for trips into town when needed.
Better not forget the delicious Cocktails served at Happy Hour every evening from 6-7 and the complimentary hi tea from 4-5 every day .
Highly recommend the Chedi Club for a special getaway.

Escape in Ubud

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Chedi Club recently and had an amazing experience. Our butler Dharma was incredibly helpful. All staff is dedicated and of abundance to giving you the experience you want. Morning yoga & breakfast were splendid and our balloon ride was great. It was expectedly quiet as we traveled in the offseason and I can imagine the private/expansive property would be amazing during the busy season. Great stay. Recommended.

The ultimate getaway in Ubud

The grounds are spectacular and beautifully maintained, as were all villas - no details were missed. All the staff went above and beyond and anticipated our every need. After speaking to many of the staff there, many had been working there 10+ years.

Excellent service, beautiful grounds, pure relaxation

Beautiful hotel, only 20 villas on site, the staff are incredibly attentive to your every request. You have your own private butler who comes immediately to your villa to sort what ever your requirement is. There are some nice touches which we enjoyed-free car during the day for trips around ubud, this makes visiting tourist sites both easy, hassle free and safe, complimentary afternoon tea 4-6pm, complimentary early evening cocktail 6-7pm and free spirits /soft drinks/couple of beers stocked daily in the room. And we loved the complimentary yoga at 7.30am, we arent morning people but found our zen :)
We stayed in the one bed villa and loved the outside space, outside bath and large pool area.
All round a lovely hotel, in absolutely beautiful gardens, which are extensive, its very peaceful and we loved our stay here.
