Ultra-stylish villa complex overlooking the famous rice fields of Canggu

The Lowdown

Style-savvy guests have a lot to look forward to at this low-key but high impact resort in the tiny village of Canggu on Bali’s west coast. Not only will you be overlooking the famous rice fields, but you’ll be just over a mile from Echo Beach – the island’s most cherished surf spot that’s celebrated for its black sands, advanced reef breaks, sunset dining spots, and chilled-out vibe.
A cool choice for those who like their stays laid-back but luxurious, each of the five luxury-led villas are finished to a high spec. All come with Balinese-style décor and a better-than-average level of creature comforts, but it’s the extras that really impress; from outdoor verandahs for all-day lounging to gorgeous bathrooms with bathrobes, slippers and complimentary toiletries.
There’s no shortage of things to do here, either. Days can be spent relaxing by the palm-lined pool, enjoying massages at the little spa, kicking back with a glass of Balinese rice wine at the café-cum-bar, and sampling all sorts of Western and Asian gourmet delights. The staff are also super-helpful should you wish to organise car hire or bicycle rental for the duration of your stay.

Lavish greeneries with pinch of colours
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Was with my family at this absolute stunning place. Asked for a pool view and vuala! Given a room right in front of it and the kids loved it. Staffs are really helpful and informative. 😊 peaceful and chill vibe around. Surrounded by greeneries and pinch of colours from the lively flowers. Managed to get some surreal aerial shot of this lovely place.

Very quiet hotel in the hectic area Canggu

I stayed at Planta Villa with my boyfriend for two nights and we absolutely loved it! The hotel is very quiet and you can't believe that you are only 5 minutes drive from the busy centre of Canggu with thousands of food and activity options. The rooms are very beautiful designed, very nice staff, comfortable beds, nice swimmingpool and relaxing areas. We loved it!

My stay at Planta Villas was divine!

My stay at Planta Villas was divine! The staff were warm and accommodating and the villa itself was stunning! I loved the surrounding neighborhood of Canggu, and Planta is set just far enough away from the action to be a zen retreat at the end of each day. Furnishings at the villa were modern and chic and careful attention was paid to the decor to deliver a very laidback luxe vibe! Amenities included a Harmon & Kardon Bluetooth speaker, bath salts, adaptors, and the cutest slippers I’ve ever received at a hotel! Great bathtub, large enough for 2 people and nice outdoor shower! My bedroom was made up of 2 walls of glass which opened right up to the communal pool! Taking breakfast in our super comfy bed while “lounging poolside” was so much fun! The grounds were lush and beautiful and Planta felt like our own private hideaway! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return the next time on holiday in Bali!

Poor design, not enough privacy
Reviewed 3 months ago

We bought a package of four nights but ended up leaving after two nights. We were allotted the Aga room which is on top of the media room and reception area. The room had serious design faults, the first being the lack of lighting. Unless all of the curtains are pulled back during the day which is not possible unless you don’t mind peeping Toms, it is entirely too dark. It was a total disaster at night and I think a safety concern. Secondly, there is no wall between the toilet and bathtub and the bedroom. A flimsy see-through screen next to the toilet isn’t going to do it in terms of privacy. The twin wash basins are impractical as the faucets are set too far back so one is on tippy toes to reach the water. The wooden closets were literally falling apart at the seams. The room safe was placed on the top shelf of closet and impractical to use. There was a mini-bar and wine opener but no wine glasses?

The five rooms are called ‘villas’ but really, these are five rooms in a house, and not a very big one at that. This would be better if rented in its entirety. As a couple with other couples staying at the property, it was very awkward - there isn’t enough public space. Meals are taken at a communal table or in your room.

The staff are sweet and mean well but have not had enough training.

The food was at least not bad.

Great Central Location!!

We stayed here for a couple of days. The villa is beautiful and close to all the main attractions that Canggu has to offer. In walking distance to the beach, cafes, gyms and only a short scooter ride to Finns Beach Club. The staff were very friendly and helpful even dropping us to local cafes and night spots. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a great relaxing Bali experience.
