Ultra-stylish villa complex overlooking the famous rice fields of Canggu

The Lowdown

Style-savvy guests have a lot to look forward to at this low-key but high impact resort in the tiny village of Canggu on Bali’s west coast. Not only will you be overlooking the famous rice fields, but you’ll be just over a mile from Echo Beach – the island’s most cherished surf spot that’s celebrated for its black sands, advanced reef breaks, sunset dining spots, and chilled-out vibe.
A cool choice for those who like their stays laid-back but luxurious, each of the five luxury-led villas are finished to a high spec. All come with Balinese-style décor and a better-than-average level of creature comforts, but it’s the extras that really impress; from outdoor verandahs for all-day lounging to gorgeous bathrooms with bathrobes, slippers and complimentary toiletries.
There’s no shortage of things to do here, either. Days can be spent relaxing by the palm-lined pool, enjoying massages at the little spa, kicking back with a glass of Balinese rice wine at the café-cum-bar, and sampling all sorts of Western and Asian gourmet delights. The staff are also super-helpful should you wish to organise car hire or bicycle rental for the duration of your stay.

Highly recommend - Will be back again!

Planta Villa has been most accommodating and have taken great care of me throughout my stay. For instance, I was travelling back to Seminyak early the next day and they were thoughtful enough to pack a breakfast to go box for me. Special thanks to Yana, Komaeng and Eddy for looking after me. Will be back for sure!

Quiet place in Canggu

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at The Planta just a few weeks ago. For starters the location is prime. Everything you want to do in Canggu is just a short bike ride away and all the best bars, cafes, and restaurants are nearby. As for the place itself it is everything you would want to see in a boutique hotel. Each villa is unique both inside and outside with all different views of the jungly surroundings. The room we stayed in was about as close to staying in a fairy house as you can get. It had big white curtains and a giant mosquito net which was so beautiful especially in the morning. Our room overlooked the beautiful pool which was nice and there were also lots of lovely day beds with white curtains to lay in. The common areas were also incredibly beautiful with very nice interior design choices. Overall we would highly recommend the Planta if you are looking for a boutique hotel nestled in the jungle in Canggu.

Beautifully peaceful and special.

We stayed at Planta for 4 nights. Although slightly tricky to find at first, the hotel is absolutely stunning- you really feel like you are in Bali with it being situated in the rice fields with nature all around you. The staff are so polite and attend to your every need. The breakfast which is included in your stay is also totally delicious and changes daily. The only fault I can think of is that there are a lot of mosquitos, but the staff spray your rooms in the evening and this can be easily managaed. If I come back to Bali I will 100% be coming back to Planta.

One of the best places i've ever stayed!

From as soon as you walk into this place, it is absolutely breathtaking. You are instantly greeted with a giant koi pond with giant white Koi. The rooms are very nice and big with the perfect amount of air conditioning. The bathrooms are also very spacious with a lovely decor. The butler was so attentive and kind, he organised anything we needed and prepared the most delicious afternoon teas and breakfasts for us. We will definitely be coming back! Thank You!

Seriously one of the best places I've ever stayed in

I don't think I can describe just how good this place is.
We arrived late at night and were met with the prettiest of sights. The foyer is even spectacular with vaulted roof and welcoming feel.

There is a shared pool in this complex and it is something else. Nice and big, immaculately clean and clear and the surrounding tropical forests are picture perfect.

We stayed in Villa 4 which overlooked the pool and was adjacent to a common area and dining table where breakfast was served.

The room was gorgeous with a great big bed and bedroom, dressing room with bath tub and vanities and an outside rain shower.

I was travelling with my husband and we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we were greeted with rose petals floating in the bath tub and scattered across the bed. They even made a cake for us which was very special.

As for the staff, they were all unbelievably friendly and made us always feel very welcome. A special mention to Gidya who was always available and keen to make sure our stay with them was memorable.

I can't think of anything that I would suggest to improve because the experience for us was simply spot on.

Well done to the team at Planta and we look forward to seeing you again.
