Nice hotel, but let down by appalling customer service

You will see from my Tripadvisor profile that I am the type of person who praises, rather than criticises hotels, but the service we received was so bad and ruined our stay, that I have to post this review.

When checking out, we even asked for the Managers details which they refused to give, which surprised me, and instead would only give the Front Desk email ( which I can only presume is to cover up the terrible service we experienced)
5 days after sending in my complaint, I have not even had a reply, nor have my emails to Palladium Hotels or the Managing Director of Ibiza Hard Rock, who I managed to track down through linked in

The key issues were:

We had asked 6 months ago if we booked 2 Swim-up suites, could they be together. We were told as normal that this could not be guaranteed, but they would try everything to make it happen.

When we checked in at 11 am, we were told (with no apology) that the request was on the system, but it HADN'T been actioned by anyone, so nothing had been blocked off BUT if we waited until 3pm - we could get two together.

This wasn't ideal as we had to leave for a pool party by 3.30pm

After asking several times for an update as we sat in reception, eventually at 3.30pm we were told that couldn't get us rooms together, but they would swap us as soon as they checked out the room next to our friends the following day.

The next day we checked after breakfast and were told that they promised to keep us updated on our mobile (we never had a call)
At 1pm we saw the person next door check out (late) and the cleaner finished cleaning by 2pm (we could see this as we were sat by the pool - waiting)
I went to reception to say we hadn't had a call and they said we COULDNT have the room - as the previous person had gone without paying (?), but to come back later
at 3pm
We checked again to be told the room was showing as uncleaned on the computer so we still couldn't have it. Only when I insisted it was clean did a friendly person on reception (tall blonde guy) said we could have the key and let him know if there was a problem

On hearing this, a front desk manager (black shirt) had an argument with him in Spanish in front of us (very unprofessional) and said we couldn't have the key as he hadn't signed off the room..."as the Hard Rock prides its self on the rooms being perfect"

As we had no towels from the maid on 2 of our 4 days* and our friends found am empty cocaine wrap in their CLEAN shower, I would disagree strongly with this!

*we even Called 'Star Service' - from bedroom 3 times and calls for towels etc and the calls were either picked up and put down, or rang and rang for 2 1/2 minutes with no reply!

We then waited another hour for the manager to walk the 5 minutes to sign off the room .....but we did then finally we had a very pleasant early evening with friends on our adjacent terracing

The following day the swim up suite next to us was taken by another 2 people, who then invited another 20 people (works party) to their terrace, who then took all our outside furniture and the ones next to use and stood on our decking so we couldn't use our outside area. They then ordered 2 very large trolleys of food and made a real mess of the outside area (I sent pictures)

We asked a member of staff if they could get our furniture back so we could use our area and he said "there is nothing we can do about it but I will make sure it's cleaned up as soon as they had finished"

This was not done and the following morning there were still wet towels and furniture everywhere and still french fries all over our decking 24 hours later

This might (or might not ?) sound petty to you reading this but it was the general lack of apathy of good customer service which disappointed us so much...and particular as we are big such Hard Rock Fans, having stopped in their hotels all around the world and booked this thinking it would be on par with Hard Rock Tenerife (which it is definitely is not).

Had I received a reply to the 3 emails I would also have not posted this, but feel that as a seasoned traveller I need to warn of the lack of service at Ibiza Hard Rock, which is not what other users of the Hard Rock chain will be used to

Very surprised by the great service

This was our first stay at the hard rock hotel, we normally go to Destino resort because of the great atmosphere over there. This time we wanted to try something else, we searched for a hotel that is a bit more alive in the evening. With the different restaurants and the rooftop bar we were served like we wanted.
We were very surprised by the great service and amenities of such a big hotel. They let you feel and experience that you’re really special as a guest of their hotel. A lot of hotels can learn from the great service they offer. We thought that no one could exceed the experience of Destino resort but the hard rock hotel did...:-)


We have just stayed here for 10 days for our wedding/honeymoon! Can not fault this hotel at all fr the minute we arrived we have been spoilt by gifts and vouchers, the staff have been amazing. Lidia who organised the wedding and made sure everything was perfect for us was great such a pleasure to deal with! The staff round the pool are excellent and so friendly they really can’t do enough to look after you and make sure your ok. This is our last day here and we genuinely don’t want to leave, by far one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in and can’t wait to book to come back! Our whole hard rock experience as been amazing, thank you to everyone
