i would love to love this place

The views are incredible, the staff really helpfull, but the rooms are icecold at night, as the heating or aircon does not work. It is also strictly forbidden to bring food or beverages from outside to the rooms, but there is no room service and only 1 bottle of water. basically you will be dehydrated. Our windows could not close, so it was extremely cold at night. Basically you are forced to eat all your meals at the pool restaurant, or the main restaurant, unless you drive somewhere else. The internet is buggy, and not stable. Now haven written that, the food is incredible. The Wine is super, and the views are unbeatable. So? we had a good time, but this place really needs some maintanence. Oh and also. there was a building site nearby, so all dreams of listening to birds and quiet, were interrupted by the romantic sounds of sledgehammering.

Incredible!

Had an amazing weekend getaway at Encuentro. The views from the rooms are breathtaking and the pool/jacuzzi area is tastefully built out. Id highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, luxurious, and experiential getaway. Jair at the frontdesk is the best!

I got engaged here, so I’ll cherish this place always... but

FOOD... food is amazing here. Breakfast and dinners were delicious all of the time - problem is at least 6 times I was told that they didn’t have what I wanted to order. Staff - always friendly and helpful, good people who were definitely interested in making you feel comfortable Views - because the location up in the mountain, all the rooms had amazing beautiful views. Moreover, at night, I had the most beautiful starry nights I’d never seen.
· The rooms - I’ve been to places where the rooms have limited space but were extremely comfy. This is not the case, the space is limited an the rooms lack: * racks or places to put your clothes. Forget about a closet there’s no space for a closet, but a few racks could have been the solution. Instead we had to try our best to keep our luggages as orderly as possible, which was difficult since day 1. *proper sealing from exterior - you can close the door all you want, I went during winter and there was a 1 inch space (where my finger could fit perfectly) where the cold 1-3 C air, could enter, and believe me, it’s windy up in the mountain. We suffered because of the cold weather, which of course was outside the control of the hotel, but more because the room would never be warm, the last night we literally put all our scarfs into the “windy rack” to see if that helped, it mildly did but the problem is the space where wind came in goes all the way up to the ceiling (3.5 mts) and we could only cover maybe 2 mts of it... *they gave us 2 small heaters for the room (which was good) which even with 10 would not have been enough to be comfortably warm inside, and anyway we had VERY limited outlets to connect anything so we would have needed to decide between charging our phones or connecting one more heater *hot water for more than 3 minutes -everyday I’d suffer to get a shower, with such cold weather after day 1 I wanted to take a long hot shower, i still had soap everywhere and shampoo in my hair, when water decided to turn uncomfortably cold. I asked in the reception and they said it was probably because of the pipes? Or something... apparently after reading all reviews this is standard ...it happened everyday *roads to the rooms - so it’s note to be eco friendly and all, but we saw so many other solutions at other hotels/wine-yards to deal with the odd terrain and to make “driving a car” not such a mess.

Stay as far away as you can

As a luxury travel agent with over 30 years of experience this has been one of the worst so far.
Over 2 months ago I voiced my interest staying and experiencing this recommended by sunset and T&L property.
I shared that I have guests who await my return from the Valle to plan a birthday, anniversary, and bachelor party.
It took 5 or 6 emails from my end for one person to respond with delays that are unacceptable in this class of hotel category and cost.
The rudeness of the Front Desk employees are so far unmatched.
Neither Alma nor Yedid (who are in Sales, one groups one regular) are never available.
They require a 50% deposit to confirm a stay, but you will not get a confirmation. When you call, the confirmation is sent but with the wrong rates.
Mind you I pay full price, stay mid week in the low season and I get the run around.
That show me that Encuentro has lost its charm, interest and will to serve.
I have decided not to include this property in my agenda and will not longer stay.
With all the recent bad reviews as an owner I would be worried. Looking at the reviews with absolute no response from their management, I think they don't care.
There are many great options in the valley - stay away from this one.
