Fabulous Honeymoon

Amazing stay in a beautiful suite - set in the most stunning location in the Black Forest. The room was so comfortable whilst maintaining that luxury element. The Adler staff were so friendly and warm. We used the spa facilities and enjoyed the fine dining at the restaurants. Completely unbeatable and recommended. Thank you to the owners and team at Hotel Park Adler!

Free public transport; no airco

The hotel Adler is a quiet retreat in a wonderful setting. The Adler breaths history and offers modern facilities at the same time. It manages to stay on top during all these years. It shows personal attention and continuous maintenance and innovation.

We loved the extensive spa and pool area. It will not be easy to find a matching facility anywhere in the region. It was just a pity that during our stay they allowed a family with barking dogs and crying babies at the pool side without giving priority to the serenity we otherwise would have found here.

It was a very hot week when we stayed. Happy with the pool, but not so happy that this hotel does not offer airco.

We noticed the personal influence of the owner. Most of the time for the good, sometimes for the bad: the design of the corridors with texts and strange torches give it a very cheap feel (the kind of design you would find in a shop like Action (NL), or Butlers (D)). Same goes for the pillows hanging behind the bed as a kind of head board is not functional, even a bit unhygienic.

During the booking process it is difficult to find out which type of room you are actually booking. There are 2 kinds: the more traditional (and darker) Schwarzwald type and the more modern (and lighter) Belle Epoque type.

Upon arrival, valet parking was swift and for free. We had to wait because our room was not ready yet and we were not offered an SLH Indulged member upgrade (which was available). Check in staff completely failed to understand our needs and preferences, well made up for by the front desk manager / guest relations manager. Reception is friendly but too immature for the 5-star hospitality job. They also forgot to inform us about the free public transport in the region (e.g. train to Freiburg; easy walk from the hotel to the train station). This is actually a very great service and a great way to explore.

Free minibar, good wifi, free public transport.

Lovely Anniversary Weekend
Nigel B

Stayed two nights (Saturday and Sunday) on a return visit as have stayed here for our anniversary for some years now.

Rather special place for us and really helpful and friendly staff make the stay even more so ...

Good room, very nice bathroom and quiet location regardless of location of room as set well away from any significant roads ...

Didn't use Spa this time but have on previous occasions and very well equipped with indoor and outdoor pools and whirlpool baths, sauna and all one would expect or wish for.

Ate in restaurant (Stuebli) both nights and sat outside on the second as the weather improved. Good menu and very good food with a wine list to match and the bar makes a very good cocktail (Singapore Sling on this occasion).

In summary then a great stay and looking forward to returning.
