How to Get There
This was not my first stay here--but my last stay was some time ago, and it would seem that in the intervening time I did something to warrant an upgraded room, since I was given an enormous suite with a little kitchenette for my two-night stay. The room was very comfortable, as was the bed, and very nicely furnished and designed. While I was very very happy with the stay, I might as well use this opportunity to raise a few things for the management to consider when they next remodel:
1. Having a translucent door between the bedroom and the bathroom is a terrible design choice for couples comprising one early riser and one late riser, since turning on the lights to allow the early riser to bathe risks waking the late riser. What's wrong with a solid door?
2. Why oh why does anyone need so many pillows on a bed? I counted seven pillows, three of which were certainly not suited to sleeping on. That meant they got put on the floor, and then they were put back on the bed when the cleaning staff made up the room the next day.
3. I was very excited to see a Nespresso machine in the room, but it took me a day to figure out where the coffee pods were hidden.
I will certainly stay here next time I am in Auckland, so I hope that one day I'll see some of those minor things taken care of!
Great hotel. Room very clean and today. New furnishings. Amazing pillow selection. Great WiFi free. Room has plenty of nice features, lighting, bathroom etc Easy to use Tv. Room service great. Meals great in Gusto restaurant.
We were there for ringing in the Year New 2019 and really enjoyed the street party, fireworks and concert arranged by the hotel conglomerate. Its in a convenient location , walking distance from Queen Street ,the shopping district. On the downside ,buffet breakfast in their restaurant is quite mismanaged and the spread is very limited. Also ,a major pain was having to get out of bed for every phone call as the only phone in the unit was located on the writing table and not on the bedside. It was very inconvenient as we were traveling with friends and there were a lot of calls made to each other's rooms.
The hotel is near the wharf. It is a short walk. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby.
The casino is attached. There are hop on hop off buses right outside the door.
The rooms were beautiful. They had a nice bathtub and walk in shower in my king room.
All the staff were helpful.
The room is quite nice with a very good view.
The staffs are very friendly and helpful too.
I have stayed here many times already and I think it is the best hotel in Auckland.
Really recommend Masu (Japanese restaurant) next to it.
