How to Get There
After 2 weeks on charter yacht we felt like a luxury meal instead of traditional greek Tavernas. The Japanese selection was fresh, tasty & beautifully presented. We chose wine from the alternative menu that was more reasonably priced. Our waitresses were very friendly and made us feel welcome even though we were not hotel guests. Some food was a little over cooked & salty but excellent ingredients made everything still delicious. Finishing touches were special and we wandered back to the beach, into our dingy & onto the yacht very satisfied.
Me and my wife stayed at Cape Sounio for five nights. Mid August 2018. We loved the place. High end hotel, amazing service, great beach, amazing breakfast. Got a sea view bungalow. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
A dayvisit cannot sufficiently judge a resort, its unfair. I went on a site inspection and the resort has a beautiful garden, a nice beach and even some nice rooms and villas, some with private pool. I prefer the Dreamvilla, but the Deluxe Bungalows are also ok. The family villa is a bit tired and the superior bungalows too.
The resort is located at the upper side of the main road to Cape Sounio, with 2 tunnels under a the road to reach the beach and beach bar.
There is a saltwater pool outside and also an indoor pool.
If you want a good resort in a peaceful area it’s a fine choice, but it’s not 5* deluxe in my opinion.
With our favourite Athens resort (the Astir) closed for refurbishment we decided to try the Grecotel at Sounion.
This is is GREAT resort.
Location - Amazing (the pool is built amongst a 3rd century BC village)
Two private hotel beaches - 2 mins stroll from the the main resort
Restaurants - from a la carte to buffet were great.
Kids club - there was a daily football trailing session with a professional coach!
Rooms - private and with wonderful views of the Temple of Poseidon.
We loved this place and will be back.
This resort doesn’t need superlatives; but if you could specify; amazing view, crazy buffet for every meal; fantastic service; great atmosphere. Really no issues. If you can of course spend some time at the temple; great view from there as well!
