How to Get There
Room was clean and adequate, if a little small. Service was excellent. Perfectly situated with one of the best views of the Acropolis. Close by to
everything you need to see and do in Athens. Especially if you only have a day
We stayed 4 nights at this hotel and had a great stay. The location is perfect within walking distance to most attractions. You had an amazing views from the roof top and rooms.
The staff were friendly, rooms good and breakfast was also good( view to die for)
Consider this hotel value due to what it provides and location
We stayed here for 3 nights as a mini moon after our wedding.
I travelled with my leg in a brace after dislocating my knee on our wedding day, but this hotel did everything possible to ensure they could help me in any way.
The room was lovely, we had superb views.
The rooftop restaurant was my favourite with views of the Acropolis and absolutely outstanding food and drink!
The location is in perfect walking distance of the main tourist attractions and the staff were so friendly and informative.
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
I visited Athens Gate in mid-June for 4 nights, we had a great stay and I would recommend the hotel primarily based on its central location. You are only a short walk from the sights, shops or restaurants and there is plenty of choice around. Getting around Athens from the hotel was very easy by foot, but also the hop-on hop-off bus stop was a minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel has great views of the Temple of Zeus and Acropolis which are great for breakfast on the rooftop. I booked a superior room with a view and we were given one facing the Acropolis (pictures attached). The only thing I would question is what else was superior about the room, except for the view. It’s seemed to be a “standard” room and the upgrade being the view of the Acropolis. Having said that the room was spacious, and generally well kept. In all honesty, we spent the majority of the day out and about so used the hotel as a base, and it most definitely met our needs for this. The only issue we had was with a power socket in the room, and when used the whole rooms electricity went out. The hotel staff were quick to resolve the issue and after a day sent up a technician to fix the problem. Not only with this, but in general all staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. We even booked a half day trip to Cape Sounion through the hotel, with their tour supplier and it was good value for money. Breakfast was up on the rooftop, and offered a good variety of food, with the usual continental choices (sausages, bacon, eggs), cereal, local pastries, yoghurts and fruit. If I return to Athens, I would certainly consider staying here again with the main factors being the location and customer service of the staff.
We had a great stay at the Athens Gate. The staff is very attentive. Location is perfect for sightseeing, dining, and shopping. Beautiful views from the rooftop restaurant although the meals are a bit pricey. All in all, an excellent choice.
