How to Get There
We stayed at the Beach Village for 2 nights during the Songkran holiday. Frankly, I'm not sure why so many reviewers raved about it. The resort seemed definitively unremarkable in a very Scandinavian kind of way - the IKEA of Thai beach hotels.
-Nicely maintained resort.
-Very quiet location.
Not so good:
-Far from the beach.
-No television stations.
-A bit boring for a resort.
Sam Roi Yod and the Beach Village is simply the place to go if you want peace and quiet and something fairly close to Bangkok/Hua Hin, but do not like the swarms of tourists in Hua Hin.
The Beach Village is set in green surroundings with the mountains in the background and has different sized, very spacious Scandinavian style condos. There are six condos around each pool and most of them have a huge roof terrasse, which is really cool.
There is an excellent restaurant at the resort and it is fairly reasonably priced. The resort is apparently visited by many scandinavians as several (and well-prepared!) Danish dishes can be found on the menu.
Complimentary bicycles are available at the resort and it takes only 5 minutes to bike down to the beach (or 10-15 min walk). There are a number of restaurants and bars lining the beach front - and the beach itself offers fairly shallow waters (great if you travel with kids) and long stretches of fairly deserted beach.
Make sure to visit the girls at Ole Massage on one of the first days of your stay! They do great Thai massage and they will help you arrange everything from boat trips around the nearby Islands, taxi into Pranburi or Hua Hin, onwards journey by local bus, etc - all at very reasonable prices!
Great place, peaceful, lush and green with palmtrees, very friendly staff. The Coconut Restaurant serves very nice food:Thai and western dishes all very tastefull and authentic.
Close to the beach, so you can either walk or go by bicycle.
First and importantly, my wife and I had a very pleasant 8 day stay at the Beach Village. We recommend this resort very highly in all respects. Manager Bo Hansen and staff are very, very accommodating and totally helpful.
Now, I shall tell you why. We had booked at another resort a short distance away and were very disappointed. So, we walked to BV to inquire and luckily for us BV had space for our period of need. The luck was ours because the accommodations were modern, clean and comfortable, with a salt water pool just outside the door.
The beach at Sam Roi Yot is a 300 meter walk down a paved road, but beach access is good. The resort name is a bit of a misnomer, but that's a minor concern since everything else is so good.
The staff were very professional and helpful, taking great pains to ensure we had a good stay. The breakfast was very good and complete. Lunch and dinner at the restaurant were equally good.
We stayed 13 days here - 3 generations and had an awesome time. Great food, clean house, nice pool and super friendly and helpful staff.
This is the second time we stay here. Nice beach and interesting nature close by.
