How to Get There
Beautiful pool villa with 2 bedrooms, kitchen and bar area, outdoor bathroom style with outdoor relaxing area. Pool is big with beautiful garden with private area for sunbathing. Perfect for big family or group of friends holiday. Definitely will come back again.
The villa was very special - located behind a high wall making it very private, with a large pool and outdoor living terrace, and large size bedroom and a very nice outdoor bathroom. It was everything you would expect and more. The pool was the highlight. But the whole resort is very nice with a nice beach with plenty of chairs and double beach salas. There is massage available on the beach in a sala and the massage was great. Also an indoor spa available but we took the beach massage with the sound of ocean and the sea breeze. There are two pools. The restaurant has a very extensive menu ad the food and drinks were great and a reasonable price. But the thing that sets the resort apart is the very friendly and personal service. From the welcome to the farewell and every guest contact in between. Seemed to be great resort for families and couples. Mixed age group
I love the beach Republic, but it’s starting to look it’s age. Nothing’s changed in the years we have been coming, apart from the addition of the health Republic, that unfortunately beach Republic guests have to pay for, not at a discounted rate.
Our room is exactly the same as when we stayed 6 or 7 years ago. Literally nothing has changed, and unfortunately it’s starting to show. It needs a really good up date. New furnishings, new tiles etc the wear is showing.
It also needs a really good clean. When the rooms are empty, get in there and go wild. Get rid of the built up grime and mould.
This place has such potential, but it seems it’s been forgotten by the owners and management.
Come back and breathe life into the place. The staff are still the most amazing thing about this place.
They bring us back, not the tired facilities and rooms.
This is not exactly a cheap property, so for the money I paid I expected it to be at least clean. If you go here: inspect the room and if you notice it isn't clean, really insist on them cleaning it properly.
I stayed in a Club Suite and Modern Pool villa.
We first stayed in one of the Club Suites, which was not properly cleaned: the ceiling fan had not been cleaned in a long time with a thick layer of dust on it. The wooden frame around the bed had stains on it. Bathroom could also be cleaned better and could use some new kitting, as it was black in some places. I really urge the management to do spot checks to just check up on how the personnel is cleaning.
Room itself is functional with a decent sized terrace. The kitchen is very useful with a coffee machine (didn't try it though), water kettle, one pit cooker and microwave.
Note that this property does not offer anything with a sea view. We looked onto some roofs and a small road.
Husband had a massage in the spa and the sheet he was lying on, was full of stains...
Had a little incident with one of the glass bottles with water that are provided by Beach Republic, as I had opened a sealed one and there was a piece of glass in it. Strangely enough it had not broken off of that same bottle, so it's a mystery how it came in. If I was managing that property I would take it very seriously and immediately contact my supplier, but it seemed like they just shrugged it off and came with a quick apology. No idea if they took any action however.
After staying in the suite, I also stayed in one of the Modern pool villas and this was extremely dirty when we moved in, with stains on the floor, pillows of the couch etc. It seemed like someone had thrown a party and no proper clean up was done and this was very visible.
The upstairs room of the modern pool villa is accessed via an outside stairs, so this may not be great for staying here with young kids. Also the upstairs room is most definitely not sound proof, as the access door has a lot of space around it to let humidity and sound in. The AC was at first not working well, but this was fixed immediately and properly.
The pool has a decent size, but was shaded for most of the day it seemed. Water temperate was very nice though.
Now the positives;
The pools and restaurant are directly at the beach in a beautiful bay with a great view.
The sandy beach is quite narrow, but nice. Really liked the little cabana-like sun tanning beds.
Water is quite shallow (knee high for about 100 meters) so you have to go out a bit far to swim, however perfect with children! (although it is sandy, I do recommend bringing some shoes for in the water, as there are some sharp stones here and there, which will be useful on other beaches as well)
Breakfast was nice, with quite a large selection and an omelet station. Good coffee! Very nice view as well from the breakfast area.
Food at the restaurant is decent with fresh products, but pricey for the island. If you want it spicy, do ask for it. It seems quite adjusted to European taste.
As you can see, quite a mixed review. Hygiene is for me really important from the get go, so that kind of made the experience here a negative one. The beach side is very nice though.
beautiful apartment (penthouse)
an attentive and pleasant staff
a quiet place ... but lively (Sunday Brunch, DJ on the afternoon)
very good location
so very nice holidays
I recommand for friends, family
