Opened in May 2016, Courtyard Namdaemun is a glossy retreat to return to after an exciting day out in Seoul. Its fantastic location means that you’ll never have to venture to far to get a taste of this vibrant city. Shopaholics will love Myeong-dong, Seoul’s premium shopping district, just a stone’s throw from the hotel, and South Korea’s oldest and largest market, Namdaemun Market, is just a 5-minute walk away. Explore the rich culture of South Korea, where historic palaces sit nestled among towering skyscrapers.
Just like the city outside its doors, the hotel is chic and stylish. Vibrant colors dress the walls, complementing the sleek architectural designs of the space. Enjoy a view of Seoul Tower from the window of your premier room while tucked into the plush fabrics of your bed. And, under the Courtyard by Marriott brand, you’re guaranteed excellent service by the staff.
How to Get There
How many times does it happen that you see a glimpse of core traditional hospitality? well I have traveled as few as 30 countries but i haven't seen this a lot. Mr Sam has gone above and beyond expectation with a simple task like reissuing a lost key in the gym to booking a taxi. being an entry level employee it is very rare they use guests last names and hospitality language which Sam did. He also went out of the box to book a local taxi and talking in Korean to the taxi driver to take me to my exact location at the exact fare. i personally think such people are pioneers of hospitality and they deserve the front seat to drive the Marriott culture forward. i am looking forward o stay in this hotel again
Courtyard by Marriott in Namdaemun is a must stay hotel! First and foremost, the staff here are amongst the friendliest and most helpful of any I have ever encountered. Amenities are excellent. Proximity to shopping, eating, sightseeing, entertainment, everything is literally right outside the front door. Grandiose Palaces are just a few minutes walk away and the comprehensive, reliable, clean, subway system is available to take you anywhere else throughout the city. I suggest paying a couple extra bucks for the Executive Lounge option. Buffet-style breakfast and dinner available plus a 4 hour “Happy Hour” with all drinks included. A great starting point or night cap to wherever your journey takes you. I will stay at this hotel every time I come back to Korea.
We stayed at a fancy Sheraton Gangnam Palace hotel and had the worst experience. This place is 100% better than Sheraton. Place is brand new. Kids are allowed in Executive Lounge and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff speaks English and very friendly. There is a shuttle bus that takes you to Seoul Station, Myeongdong, Insadong every 2 hours. Perfect location in front of Namdaemun and views of Namsan tower. There are lots of restaurants nearby walking distance. In the states, Courtyard in my opinion is a lower class of Marriotts but this one seemed to have very high standards. We will stay here again!
We stayed 4 nights in this hotel and it was excellent.
The location is great, close to all the interesting sights.
The room was very convenient and clean.
The stuff is professional and helpful.
We want to thank Erica , Alex Chung and the concierge team.
We hope to come again.
I stayed in this hotel twice in the past 6 months and the overall experience was fantastic. Staff is generally friendly and efficient. Room is well equipped with the Nescafe Dolce machine and with full set of toiletries (yes dental kit is rather rare in Korea hotels). One of my stay I ordered bibimbap for room service. The taste was excellent and was very filling. As the gold member, I was also granted the club lounge access. This club lounge is one of the best in the courtyard hotels I have stayed. They provide ranges of alcohol selections during happy hour and during the food service period they always serve tasty Korean dishes. The only thing I think the hotel can improve is the temperature in the corridor. I guess the it has been extremely hot lately in Summer and the corridor is actually quite hot. Anyhow, my experience in this hotel is still excellent and I would recommend this to others.
