The Lowdown

Discovery Shores Boracay’s 88 designer digs, three restaurants and enviable island location make it a favorite with luxury travel publications, consistently garnering top awards for its spa and service. Ample glass walls, hardwood floors, minimalist furnishing and pops of ruby and royal blue throughout the all-suite hotel make already spacious quarters feel all the more roomy and welcoming, while the pool, fitness center, recreation room and library provide plenty of diversions beyond the private beach. And if you’re looking for some pampering, the award-winning spa offers a host of restorative treatments ranging from body scrubs to deep tissue massages.

In the Area

Devote three hours to the Terra Journey Massage at the top-rated Terra Spa, or opt for a shorter Hilot Haplos massage for a taste of the island’s best treatment featuring virgin coconut oil and heated banana leaves. Beyond the resort, your concierge can hook up a private island excursion to neighboring coves and cays, or provide snorkeling gear, paddleboards and other water sports amenities so you can explore the surrounding seas on your own. Don’t miss nearby Willy’s Rock, an iconic islet off Boracay that showcases a statue of the Virgin Mary and is among the most photographed landmarks in the region.

A Paradise resort in an Island paradise.

Amazing resort. Superb service 10/10. Fantastic view. Steps away from Crystal clear blue waters and powdery white sand. Very quiet and serene location. Amazing sunset right in front. The resort arranges everything from airport transfers to island tours. No worries during the entire stay.

Went with a group of 10 family members just when the opening of Boracay took place. Outstanding service from all staff. Signature suites had just been completed and were outstanding in terms of décor and ambience. The resort has the best beach on the island. Special thanks to Melvin, Francis, Chef Ricki and all the kitchen staff - you guys were amazing.

Still our favorite Boracay hotel

Discovery Shores is really like our home away from home. We were able to go after the closure and noticed their more environmentally friendly touches. For example, water served during the boat transfer was in paper cups.

And they have a great way of welcoming you. They greet you with a print out hung in the room welcoming you “home”. The complimentary foot bath is something everyone in the family always enjoys. They also have a small platter of Filipino kakanin as part of the welcome package along with their signature pandan water.

One thing I’d like them to fix though is to have the Reception Desk closer to the Arrival/Departure area. Right now it’s all the way on the other side of the hotel, by the beach.

The rooms are well-appointed and good-sized. One time we stayed in the suite that had a jacuzzi. The family loved it! In our last stay though, instead of extra beds for the two kids, they just put in sheets and pillows on a couple of sofas. I prefer that they have extra beds so that we can lounge around in the sofas in our beach clothes without worrying about dirtying it.

The people are top-notch- friendly, attentive and quick to attend to your needs. This is true for those inside the hotel and the staff that serves you by the beach. We sorely miss the beach beds and hope management will bring these back. The mats and pillows are definitely not as comfortable.

I noticed a dip in the quality of the food, especially the breakfast buffet, but overall we still enjoyed our meals.

Discovery Shores remains to be our top Boracay hotel choice.

A great place to relax. Unspeakably friendly staff. Safe and clean hotel, but some challenges with soundproofing. The location of the hotel is very good by the White Sand on Boracay. We highly recommend!!
