Amazing Honeymoon and Anniversary experiences Velassaru, Maldives.

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon at Velassaru, Maldives in 2015 and then followed up with a second visit for our anniversary. We are heading back for a third time in 2020 as this is by far one of the best hotels I have stayed at.

The staff are very attentive to your needs and requests.
The General Manager is always checking on his guests and making sure everyone is having a good time. Very good to see!

The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Modern luxury at its best.
The dining options are fantastic with many restaurants offering a variety of local and international cuisine.

My favourite is the Teppanyaki restaurant which is located at the end of a pier which gives you the most amazing views and dining experience.

Velassaru Maldives.... simply amazing!

Recently spent an amazing 8 days here at Velassaru.
My first Maldives experiences and possibly one of the most relaxing holidays I've ever had.

Aside from the pristine island setting and amazing waters (in case that's not enough to chill you out) the staff were amazing too!

Everyone was very pleasant and super attentive, without being overbearing. The GM was very attentive to all the guests needs as well. Honestly, I can't thank them enough for making my stay so enjoyable and relaxing.

Some great restaurants to choose from. A couple of great bars with funky tunes during the day as well. I was surprised by the live music each night and the calibre of the artists.

Bar staff were fun and happy to explore now cocktails... I can highly recommend the Vespar Martinis and the Basil Smash!

Took advantage of morning dives and was lucky enough to see turtles and eagle rays every dive.

The rooms (which are amazing) are kept immaculately clean throughout the day... So nice to walk in to a spotless room.

All in all I can't fault them. If this is a typical stay for a gust (and in my observations it is) then I'll definitely be back.

Thanks again!

A perfect combination of everything you are looking for in Maldives

We have stayed in this wonderful property 3 times already and it never seems to be enough. Velassaru is a place to come back.

One of the most relaxing resorts in the whole atoll, and we have been to quite a few, so can compare and tell you that Velassaru will not disappoint you.

The island is very close to Male airport, which makes it easy and quick to reach. No need to think about seaplanes and depend on the flight timing, you will definitely be met and arrive quick and in comfort. The boats are comfi and spacious. Libra that took us to the airport this time offers an upper deck as well, a great spot to enjoy the beautiful views that Maldives have to offer. We were even lucky enough to see a group of dolphin jumping nearby, as if they also came to see us off.

Even though Male can be seen in the distance, the waters around Velassaru are very blue and clean, without any seaweed unlike some of the resorts in South Make atoll for example. Ocean here offers you great visibility and no strong current, which allows to enjoy snorkeling and swimming.

The island territory is well maintained. Velassaru is covered with lush green vegetation, hibiscus bushes and frangipane trees which together with azure waters create a perfect scenery and backdrop for photos. Beauty is all around.

The villas are great. We have stayed once in Deluxe Villa and twice in Beach Villa, and can say that both categories are very nicely designed and have their own style and advantages. Nothing is far away from the beach, so you will not be disappointed, all depends on what you need.

I personally love the outdoor shower area in the beach villa & private secluded beaches in front of the rooms.

Staff at the resort is doing a fantastic job. A special thanks goes to Mohamed, a room boy who looked after our villa cleanliness during the last stay & Mr. Bill, the General Manager who is always there with a warm smile to welcome us upon arrival at the resort.

F&B deserves a word as well. I honestly cannot say which restaurant is my favorite. However, I would definitely recommend Teppanyaki, a Japanese outlet with two live cooking stations, and Sands, where you can enjoy your soft shell crab in a very tranquil setting.

Chill Bar is just a perfect spot to watch sunsets, while Fen Bar offers live music every evening.

SPA is very relaxing as well. I had a Balinese massage, and next try will definitely try something else, probably the signature Velassaru treatment, where the therapists use coconut bowls.

All in all, I can only recommend a stay at Velassaru. A perfect combination of everything.
