How to Get There
This is my first time in the Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort and I love it from the moment I got on the boat until it was time to go back to reality!
The staff are all very nice, courteous, helpful, and professional. They make you feel at ‘home’ and go out of their way to make sure your stay is as expected from a Marriott Group Hotel.
Advantage of this resort is that it is not far from the Male Airport. A quick 10 min boat ride is all it requires to get you settled into your own quiet paradise. So for travellers on a budget, you could consider this resort.
My room was awesome. I do like the outdoor washroom and bathroom as it connects you to a bit of nature. The little patio is great at night if you wanna relax and have a cigar while listening to the waves.
Access to the beach is just right outside the patio so you do not need to go very far should you wanna have a quick dip or snorkel. Life jackets are in the room which is a nice touch.
Restaurants I have tried are The Feast, Sea Salt, Anchorage Bar, and Masala Hut (renamed).
Buffet breakfast are standard for many resort hotels. Sea Salt dinner was delicious. The Indian food was also delicious.
Anchorage Bar gives a nice view of the beach and lagoon for in the day and night time. Food are great as well.
Water activities such as snorkelling or dolphin watching are available for extra costs and there are also many free water activities in the resort as well.
Laundry is VERY reasonably priced which was a huge surprise to me!
Gym was good as well as it is adequately equipped whether you need your cardio fix or muscle gains fix!
The awesome wifi is super stable and fast and available through out the entire island.
Highly recommended!!! Would give it 6+ stars if I could!
Arriving at the lobby of the Resort after a short water taxi trip from Male airport i was greeted with a warm welcome and the most friendly Staff.
After check in i was driven to my room in the centre of the complex, close to the restaurants, water sports centre and with its own section of beach.....amazing.
There are above water buros in front but theres a sufficient gap in the line to allow an uninterrupted view to sea.
At low tide a lagoon forms due to a reef which runs for over 100 metres across the frontage....very nice to snorkel or swim in the mornings.
The Staff are highly attentive and very pleasant.
Can highly recommend the Shine Spa for an invigorating massage and relax in their lounge afterwards.
Extreme Maldives Water Sports cater for scuba dives, jetskis, parasailing, snorkeling, and dolphin spotting tours.
There are five restaurants to dine in, including Feast, which also is the only breakfast venue. It caters for all tastes and has a huge variety of breakfast and evening meal tastes.
The Anchorage Bar has all day meals immediately in front of a lagoon and beach. There is construction on new apartment blocks on an adjacent island, but it does not impact by way of noise....just the sight of it.
The other restaurants are Baan Thai, Sea Salt, Kakhuni and Sand Coast. Separate reviews can be found.
All prices are in US dollars and a 10% service charge plus 12.5% GST apply.
Accounts are payable by Card only...cash is not accepted.
An incredible 7 night holiday in an idyllic paradise with beautiful views, crystal clear waters, fabulous diving, and the most friendly Staff.
A fantastic stay.....and a bucket list item ticked.
We enjoyed our stay on this hotel. The rooms are average as the furniture looks old. We stayed on a water bungalow. The size of the room is good.
If you are not having the full or 1/2board option I recommend you not to go for the buffet at night and try the other restaurants ( Thi, Indian, Seafood) where you will pay maybe 1/2 the buffet price.
This hotel is close to the Male and the airport around 20 min away by speedboat. The hotel staff are friendly and watersports are available onsite.
